As we are experiencing a heatwave it is important we stay safe in and around the water and being outdoors. See bellow a few points to stay safe in this hot weather.

🫗🧊Stay cool and hydrated, if outdoors for a long period of time it is important we take breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water. 🫗🧊

☀️⛵🛶Cover, be sure to wear caps, use and reapply sun cream throughout the day to protect from Sunburn. UV rays are even stronger when doing on the water activity. ☀️⛵🛶

🕶️🩳 Enjoy the hot weather sensibly, be aware that water temperature can still be cold and cause cold water shock. 🕶️🩳

Monthly roundup for February

It has been a busy month with a full week over the February Half Term holiday. Cadets and adults took to the water in some chilly conditions but all had a great time with plenty of hot chocolate served when they came back ashore. We had a Dinghy Instructors course, Rowing Instructors and Paddle Coach and DST training. At the end of the half term we hosted a cadet First Aid at Work course. ☺️

At the start of October we are running a RYA Windsurfing Senior Instructors Course. Please see the details on the poster below.

This Summer we are running a National Windsurfing Week. A fantastic opportunity to learn to windsurf, develop your windsurfing skills and have loads of fun on the water. Please see the details on the poster below.

Monthly roundup for January

It has been a chilly month but we’ve still managed to keep busy throughout January. We have hosted a First Aid at Work course and run a Dinghy Instructor Pre Entry Assessment and Paddle Safety Rescue Course.

We have also been busy inside the building painting, cleaning and checking over equipment ready for a busy February half term.

Happy New Year from the Thrapston Boat Station team. It might be cold outside but we are looking forward and our Spring courses are live now.
