🏆 THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND!

A game of two halves this afternoon, but we get the job done and our FA Cup journey continues! 💪

We struggled to get going in the first half, with Moulton pressing us high and making it difficult for us to play. Some important defending kept the scores level and we went into the break at 0-0.

A few stern words at half time and the second half was a completely different story. Kitty Ford produced a brilliant finish to break the deadlock, before Hannah Hipwell followed it up with a great strike to make it 2-0 ⚽️⚽️

A special mention for 16-year-old Darcy Caswell, who made her first-team debut today. 👏💙

Not our best performance, but we found a way to win - and that’s cup football!

A big well done to Moulton, who played really well and made an excellent account of themselves today. We wish them all the best for the season ahead. 👏

For us, it’s onto the next round on 6th September! 🏆

Thrapston CC is one of the host venues for the first ever National Cricket Widows Day on Sat 15th August!

This is a free entry fun day aimed at wives, partners, girlfriends, mums, aunts, sisters, Grans and everyone else continually ferrying loved ones to cricket games. Partners who end up having to trudge unaccompanied around Tesco when the cricketer(s) in the family disappear for a whole day (and evening). Wives who have to put up with the mood swings of the cricketer in their life being out first ball after promises all week of a 50 - or the elated retelling of taking a wicket which never match up with what really happened! Mum’s frantically trying to get grass stains out of the knees of freshly washed and newly destroyed whites. If this is you, we have just the day for you!

Liv Bythell, founder of The Cricket Widow Club, has invited clubs around the country to participate in this event to give back to the unheralded stars of the show - you! - so we’d love it if you can join us at Chancery Lane for a fun day!
