One 10K loop around a route on Latrigg, starting and finishing at The Cricket Pavilion.

Two ways to take the win:

⚡ FASTEST LAP — fastest male + female
🔁 MOST LAPS — most loops completed, male + female

Run it once. Run it ten times. Go fast, keep coming back for more, or do both.

The catch? Every lap has to be run in the Salomon Genesis 2.

No pair? No problem. We’ve got a full demo pool at Kong Running. Borrow them for up to 24 hours, bring them back, then come back for another go whenever you fancy.

10K. Two ways to win. One shoe. 🚀✨

We’ve teamed up with Salomon for a brand new Kong Running challenge, and this time, outright speed isn’t the only way to get yourself to the top of the leaderboard. 😎

We’re setting a 10K trail loop around Keswick, with two ways to take the win:

⚡ FASTEST LAP
Fastest male + fastest female over the 10K loop.

🔁 MOST LAPS
Male + female who rack up the most completed loops over the duration of the challenge.

There is, however, one rule…🤭

Every qualifying lap has to be run in the Salomon Genesis 2.

Don’t own a pair? You don’t need to.

We’ll have a full Genesis 2 demo pool here at Kong, so come in, grab a pair and take them out on the loop.

Run it once. Run it ten times. Go flat out for the fastest lap or keep coming back for more.

KONG RACE EVENTS

Sadly, after 10 years and 62 races, ranging from the Kong Winter Series to the 24 hour Kong Ultras we are finally calling it a day and are no longer organising Kong races.
It has been an incredibly difficult decision to make as we have loved being part of such a great community and have enjoyed the challenge of trying to make our races as well organised as we can and enticing for all runners.
We have been indebted to our race event team – which has, over the years, comprised runners from Keswick AC, Ambleside AC, Borrowdale Fell Runners, Eden Runners, Northern Fells, Cumberland Fell Runners, Helm Hill Runners, Dark Peak Runners, Holmfirth Harriers, Wharfedale Harriers, Calder Valley Fell Runners, Bingley Harriers, Howgill Harriers to name but a few. All volunteers just giving up their time to help others have a great day racing on the fells – thank you all from the bottom of our hearts – it has been a pleasure to work with you all.
To the racers – those of you who turn out every year to do battle with your rivals on the fells. We have loved watching your racing and have ourselves become immersed in the rivalries and friendships formed during these events. You have all been inspirational and we thank you all again for coming along and giving our races a go.
To the families who have let us take over their outbuildings so we could run the races – without you we could not have put the races on – the Stuarts who hosted Two Riggs and the Atkinsons who hosted SOB – thank you again and to the landowners who have let us race on their land – you have made a lot of people very happy.
To our timing and entry system gang – thank you – once we got you on board, there was never any question of us going back to old school methods! You have been a joy to work with and have always made every event just that little bit less stressful!
It has been hard work over the last 10 years but it has been a privilege to provide races that we are really proud of.
Thank you all and see you at a race soon!

THE TERREX ROUND IS OVER. 🏁

And we have our winners.

Joe not only put down the fastest men’s time, but did it in the adidas Terrex Agravic TTs, doubling his prize pot from £500 to £1,000.

Scarlet took the fastest women’s time, completing the challenge in her own shoes and taking home the £500 prize.

After weeks of rapidly shifting times, last-minute attempts and some seriously quick runs, that’s a wrap on the Terrex Round. 🥹

Properly put through its paces. 👟😎

We’ve taken the new Salomon S/LAB Genesis 2 out for a spin around Wasdale, putting it through some of the roughest and most technical terrain the Lake District has to offer.

And honestly? We’ve loved it.

It’s fast and responsive when you want to move, but still feels secure when the terrain gets rocky, steep and a little unpredictable. The grip gives plenty of confidence on technical ground, while the stable, cushioned platform keeps things comfortable when the miles start to rack up.

From picking your way across rocky ridgelines to letting the legs go on the descents, this is a shoe that makes you want to keep moving.
