About Me
My name is Kevin Durman, I have been an angler for 40 years. I live in Ashford, Kent, the garden of England. As a youngster I spent so much time in the local tackle shop that they offered me a job, an anglers dream, working with fishing tackle all day long and meeting all the top local anglers. As the type of angler that wants to learn, their knowledge and skills rubbed off on me and

A busy couple of weeks coaching with some one to one sessions during last weeks half term. And this week the schools were back with trips to Hadlow College Grove farm fishery and the wonderful Ashford Angling clubs Surrenden lakes. Loads of fish caught on a number of methods, and always nice to see some Tench grace the nets.

Term time im working with schools, half terms I get to squeeze in some one to one tuitions. We've spent some lovely days out enjoying the weather, catching fish and learning loads.

Love it when a client catches a PB on a tutorial. Robert had done a little pike fishing before but wasn't 100% confident so wanted a lesson on handling, rig making and methods. Mission accomplished with this one of 16lb.

To get to the fishing part we first have to learn to tie knots. Over sized plastic hooks and 4mm paracord is just the job to practice with.

Yesterdays horrendous rain didnt stop my pupils wanting to get out and do some angling. Brollys up, out of the wind and nicely protected from the elements. Great to be back in the swing of it all, theres bites to be had.

1st day back with the schools this year. And a day for being comfortable under a brolly. I wouldn't normally fish rods on alarms but they do come in handy in horrendous weather. We kicked the term off with Chub, Bream and some nice sized Roach.

Whilst I'll wait until it's properly cold for my own pike fishing I do run pike angling tutorials from October. If you'd like to learn how to handle and fish for pike safely do get in touch, further details on my website.

I had kind of hoped for a quiet summer break but that's not happened as enquiries for coaching are coming in daily. Loads of father and son sessions booked to the point that my diary is almost full. Of course this is fantastic, as I do love to bring the joy of angling to as many as possible.
Monty had a great day yesterday catching loads of small fish on float tactics before turning to the method feeder for some carp and a smashing Tench for which I awarded him my "fish of the day"
