Stuart Mathewson caught an 8lb hen fish from the Haughton beat yesterday, safely returned. Well done Stuart, great to see a few fish being caught on the beats and more rain is forecast. Tight lines to anyone fishing this week.

🐾 Our latest mink capture count! 🐾

We've tallied up our captures from recent weeks and our current total for 2026 is 224 mink!

The majority of these (152 animals) were caught in July, August and September, during juvenile dispersal season, with only 72 captured from January to June.

Many have been caught from the south of the project area, with Tayside and the Esks catching a combined total of 132 mink. This makes up nearly 60% of total captures.

These southern catchments act as a boundary in the project, helping to prevent mink migrating into the core project area from uncontrolled areas to the south and west.

As always, thank you to our mink volunteers for all their hard work monitoring traps and rafts across the project! 🤝
