The boys finished pre season strong with a dominant win over Neilston this morning.

Some fantastic football on display with the boys at it from the first whistle. They were relentless with their pressing, played with real intensity and never let Neilston settle into the game.

It’s been a tough pre season for the boys, lots of changes and difficult matches against higher tier opposition but they’ve stuck together and go into the first league game next week full of confidence after that superb performance.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 🇦🇹

A slow start to the first 35 followed by complete dominance in the second half.

The boys created numerous chances throughout the game, forced their keeper into some great saves, hit the post, had a couple of shots cleared off the line.

Gutted for the boys as they didn’t get the result that their efforts deserved.

Special mention to Reece, Charlie, Iseoluwa, Harris and Lewis who all covered a few positions throughout the game due to the amount of boys missing through holidays, injuries etc.

Riley H with the armband for the second game in a row and he put in a real captain’s performance. He was vocal, encouraging and battled for absolutely everything.

It’s been a challenging few weeks for the boys but there are plenty of positives to take from these games and the results will come.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 🇦🇹

We found ourselves 5-1 down after a tough first half but as we’ve seen so many times from our boys they never know when they’re beaten and will battle right till the final whistle.

An incredible second-half comeback saw us fight our way back to 6-5 and despite creating chance after chance, we just couldn’t find that deserved equaliser.

With a number of boys away on holiday and only one sub tonight, the effort, determination and character shown by the whole team was absolutely superb.

Plenty of positives to take from the performance as we head into the season on Saturday full of confidence.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘

Our final game at the Glasgow City Cup was a very entertaining, end-to-end encounter with Dean Thistle.

After a tough couple of days at the tournament, we wouldn’t have blamed the boys if they were a bit down and not quite at their best but the performance they produced was absolutely superb and we’re so proud of them.

It was a narrow 3-2 loss but they played some excellent football that we saw plenty of during the 11s transition games and were very unlucky not to score more goals in this one.

Another two goals for Finlay, including a superb strike from just inside the box into the top corner.

It’s been a tough weekend for the boys but we’re delighted to end it on a positive after a performance like that.

One more game to go next week then it’s time for the league season to get underway.

It was a difficult afternoon for the team in the Glasgow City Cup.

Coming up against two Tier 1 teams, Third Lanark and Valspar, as well as Tier 2 side Pollok United was always going to be a huge challenge for our boys.

The results were tough on them but the games provided some important lessons to take into the start of the league season next week.

The boys head back to Glasgow tomorrow afternoon for a quarter-final tie against Cambuslang Colts.

The team met up at Keanie Park last night before training to collect their new kits and sign their code of conduct ahead of the upcoming season.
