With the season finished it's time to tot up all the averages and statistics - official club awards to follow but here's the 6's, 4's, runs, wickets and catches

🏏2026🏏 — the season finally limped to what's felt like its inevitable conclusion on Saturday …

Unfortunately, Inverurie Cricket Club have finally fallen through the relegation trap door, having somehow managed to stay out of the bottom two places all season. The league doesn’t lie, and 12 defeats on the bounce after three wins just wasn’t enough to keep us in Grade 1, nor should it be.

As disappointing as the results have been, there are some positives to take. Most importantly, we’ve started to see our juniors break through into senior cricket. They’re perhaps a little young to have made a big imprint in Grade 1 this year, but Grade 2 could be just the environment they need to flourish — and with another year under their belts, there’s plenty to look forward to.

The numbers tell a story too. The batting generally held up pretty well, but the bowling and fielding were a different matter, with the catching in particular giving the bowlers rather more to worry about than they needed! 😬 🤦

So, Grade 2 it is. A chance to regroup, give the younger players more responsibility and, hopefully, rediscover a bit of the spark that’s been missing at senior level.

Disappointing season? Absolutely. But not without positives — we'll look forward to new opponents and venues in Grade 2.

Thanks to everyone who played, coached, scored, umpired, supported, groundworked, set up pitches, tidied pavilion, washed dishes, helped out and generally kept things moving this year - it couldn't happen without everyone's help.

Roll on 2027. 💚🏏

With the outdoor season drawing to a close the Inverurie Cricket Club junior coaching sponsored by Inverurie Dental Practice moves back to the Inverurie Community Campus.
The 8 week block (£25, £10 for siblings) for boys and girls starts on Thursday 1st October for new and returning juniors. No experience required and all equipment supplied.

Finals Day at Kellands Park tomorrow 30th August 12.30 start with the visit of Ellon Gordon Cricket Club, Ceylon Deeside Cricket Club, Knight Riders Cricket Club (KRCC), Aberdeen, and Aberdeen Tigers - ☔️ weather permitting ☔️ .
Pitch inspection at 9.30am due to distance umpires are travelling.

It’s been coming for a while but finally a royal thumping landed at Inverurie Cricket Club’s door as Knightriders scored 234 and Inverurie could only muster 67.
Well done to everyone who turned out today and stuck at the task despite a clear gulf in the depth of both squads, special mention to the 2 juniors who both got a to bowl and a bat
