What a Summer It's Been! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Summer Programme this year. It has been fantastic to see children and young people making friends, trying new activities, building confidence and creating lasting memories.

A special thank you to our amazing staff, volunteers, and to for their support. As part of the national 2026 initiative, our Summer of Play programme has helped young people across Aberdeenshire get active, have fun and try something new.

We're incredibly grateful for all the positive feedback from families and proud to have provided safe, welcoming and inclusive experiences throughout the summer.

🌞 Summer Camps continue, and this week we were in Alford! 🌞

It's been fantastic to see so many children enjoying themselves, making new friends, trying new activities and, most importantly, having fun!

From tubing and coding sessions to bug hunting in the woods with the Rangers, our young participants embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm. Even the rain couldn't dampen spirits as children explored the outdoors and discovered all sorts of bugs hidden amongst the undergrowth, logs and stones.

One of the most rewarding pieces of feedback we received this week came from a parent who shared how the camp helped build their children's confidence to try new sports. Football had previously felt daunting, but with encouragement and support from our team, they developed new skills, joined in and loved every minute of it. Their youngest child even gained the confidence to take part in a football game outside of camp, something they had previously avoided. ⚽💙

It wasn't just the children stepping outside their comfort zones. Our staff embraced new experiences too! One team member tried tubing for the very first time, encouraged by children who were equally nervous. It was wonderful to see participants and staff supporting each other and creating positive memories together.

We also loved seeing so many new friendships form throughout the week. These connections, alongside the confidence, skills and experiences gained, are what make our Summer Camps so special.

We always love receiving feedback from parents, carers and staff, and one comment in particular really stood out this week:
