Full time from today’s The Soccer Shop Direct: Division Three tie vs University AFC

The Ams traveled to Balgownie today looking to continue the fine form we have started the season with.

We got off to the perfect start, Hayden Sim ran into a though ball from Cameron Brown slotting home past the oncoming Uni keeper.

Cameron Brown made it 2-0 on 24mins scoring for the 5th consecutive game. Cammy Mann pressed the Uni keeper inside his own box, his clearance only reaching Cameron at the edge of the box as he burst in and slotted home.

Murdo Reid made it 8 for the season. A forward pass from Cammy Mann finding Murdo in the box who rounded the keeper and rounded a couple of defenders before finishing from close range.

The Uni would pull a goal back right on half time.

University 1-3 Huntly Ams

The Ams put that goal before the break behind them, and regained the 3 goal advantage within 42 seconds of restart.
Cammy Mann played Murdo in down the left hand side, he beat his man into the box and squared it into the path of Neal Weir, Neal first effort struck the post but came right back to him and he made no mistake at second time of asking.

The Uni would pull another goal back with 14 minutes left on clock.

University 2-4 Huntly Ams

We saw out the game and continued our fine start to the season. On another day we score a lot more goals than we did today, with chance after chance going our way.
Credit to the 11 Uni boys who battled on to the final whistle. A team once they get some bodies back when Uni starts in a few weeks, will certainly be a team to watch out for.

We met the Uni last season in the 3rd round of the Dickie Trophy the students coming out on top 2-0. Previously had some good battles with the Uni in season 24/25 with results going both ways.

We are expecting a tough game on Saturday, come along and cheer on the boys, Balgownie Playing Fields 2pm kick off

The Ams took the lead after 7mins Murdo Reid was brought down in the box, Cammy Mann stepped up to slot home low to the keepers right.

The game was an even affair with both teams having chances, Musk would be the next to score, a long throw into the box was flicked on by the Musk captain, video evidence shows Matty Henderson may have had the last touch back Charles Wood in goal.

The Ams immediately hit back and restored the lead, Cameron Mann beating his man down the right hand side. Crossing for Cameron Brown to finish first time.

A minute later The Ams extended their lead, Glen McRae holding the ball up and sliding Ben Gordon who had made an overlapping run from centre back. Ben finished first time past the advancing Musk goalkeeper.

Half Time
Huntly Ams 3-1 Monymusk

Cammy Mann made it 4 on 52mins. A Cameron Brown corner from the left hand side, was met by the head of Matty Henderson, whose header fell to Cammy who finished from 6 yards high into the net.

Musk pulled one back with 22 left to play. A defensive mix up allowed their striker to beat Ben and a lot past Chez in goals

Cammy had a chance to get his hatrick as he latched into a ball over the top, only to strike the crossbar.
