The club’s Upholstery and Carpets
have been cleaned
Thank you to Vinny from fresh start
you have done an amazing job 👏👏👏
and worked your heart out to get it
all done by 1pm.
The Upholstery was done first , then the chairs and lastly the carpet so maybe the carpet will still be damp when the bar opens at 4.30pm
but the heating is on full to try to make sure this is all dry and in order for you our customers.

Novice Cup

On a day when the weather forecasters told us it was going to be a miserable wet afternoon, 12 club member novices played in glorious sunshine (for most of the time) and entertained us all with some fine bowling (for most of the time).

Players were placed in groups of 3, playing two games each to determine the four who would reach the semi final. Adey Smith, Russell Brook, Mike Howell and Allison Whitmarsh were conquerors of their groups to reach the semi finals where Russell beat Adey and Mike beat Allison, both scores being 15-8.

Some of the ends in the final would have graced any club final, especially the penultimate end. Russell had planted his first wood onto the front of the jack. Mike had gone a yard through with his first wood which turned out to be well placed as he bowled a brilliant second wood to clip the jack towards his first to earn him two points. Mike went on to win the next end to become this year's Novice Champion.

Congratulations and thanks to Mike and all those that entered and entertained the spectators around the green. I hope you all enjoyed the day.

Also a big thank you to those that came to measure, mark a card and offer advice to the competitors.
