The U14G Shield | Lepton Lighting vs Whitkirk
Itโs always a tough challenge playing against teams from higher divisions, but the girls gave absolutely everything today. ๐ช๐ป
It was a game with very few clear-cut chances, but when ours came, Amelie took hers, striking from outside the area to give the girls that little bit of hope and get us back into the game. ๐๐ผ
For the majority of the match, it was a really close contest, with the score sitting at 2-1.
Unfortunately, fitness started to tell in the final 10 minutes. The girls kept going and continued to search for that equaliser, but we were caught out late on and conceded.
The final score doesnโt quite reflect just how hard the girls worked. Against a side from a higher division, they showed great determination, resilience and a willingness to keep fighting right until the final whistle.๐
