The UK's updated Chief Medical Officers' physical activity guidelines have landed, and the message is refreshingly simple...

✨ You don't need to be perfect.
✨ You don't need hours in the gym.
✨ You just need to move more.

The biggest takeaways:
πŸ’š Every movement counts – even the small things.
πŸ’š Sitting less is just as important as exercising more.
πŸ’š Strength training is essential at least twice a week to maintain muscle, bone health and independence.
πŸ’š If you're taking weight-loss medications like GLP-1s, resistance training is even more important to help preserve muscle.
πŸ’š The goal of 150 minutes of moderate activity each week still stands – but it doesn't have to happen all at once.
πŸ’š Walking to the shops, taking the stairs, carrying the shopping, dancing in the kitchen... it all adds up.

The truth is, most people don't fail because they don't know what to do.

They fail because life gets in the way.

They're tired. They're busy. They're stressed. They don't have support. They don't feel motivated. They're scared they'll fail again.

The people who create lasting change aren't the ones who have perfect circumstances.

They're the ones who keep showing up anyway.

Not perfectly. Not every day. But consistently enough to keep moving forward.

Because confidence doesn't come before action. Motivation doesn't magically appear. And there will never be a perfect time.

The small walk when you're tired. The workout when you can't be bothered. The healthy choice when stress is high. The boundary you set when it's uncomfortable.

These are the moments that create change.

Small actions. Repeated consistently. Even when life is messy.

That's where real transformation happens.
