Horsham Pickleball Club

The Horsham Pickleball Club had two teams in action on 8-Mar. Our D3 Men defeated Brighton 6-0, while our D3 Women fell to Crowborough 0-6.

In the first fixture of the morning our Men's team remained undefeated for the season by turning in a dominating performance. 4 of the 6 best of 3 matches were won 2-0. In the other 2 matches, after losing the 1st games, we came back to win the matches 2-1.

There was a great mix of power and finesse on display, with plenty of speedup rallies and lots of excellent dinking. The highlight of that contest was in a 3rd game, when Nick and Richard were down 14-20 and battled back to win 21-20. It was so exciting.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

In the second fixture of the morning, although we played with a lot of heart, our Women's team didn't fare as well. We lost to a strong Crowborough side. There was a glimmer of hope for salvaging at least 1 of the best of 3 matches when Cindy and Mhairi won the 1st game, 21-15, only to drop the next 2, 15-21 and 16-21. Keep your chins up Ladies. 🤛🏾 Let's prepare to take on Brighton next.

On 4-Mar, our Men’s D3 team traveled to Brighton and battled the fast and furious Brighton team to a 3-3 draw.

Our chaps played some startling pickleball, getting shots back that seemed unplayable.

D2 Ladies Win on the Road

On 20-Feb, Our Horsham Pickleball Club D2 Ladies team improved their season record to 2-1-2 by defeating Sussex Pickleball Academy 5-1 on the road.

We dropped the 1st match of the best of 3, losing 2 close games, 20-21 and 18-21. We then bounced back to win the next 5 in a row. Congratulations Ladies for a dominating performance.

The final Sussex League fixture for Feb finds our D2 Men on the road against Arun, 26-Feb at 7PM.

Our next home fixtures are on 8-March where both Men's teams and our D3 Ladies will be in action.

Horsham Pickleball Club victorious!

Our 2 teams turn in excellent performances.

The Ladies' D3 team notched their 1st win of the season with a 4-2 victory against Brighton. This was a well-deserved win for the Ladies. 3 of the 6 best of 3 matches went to a 3rd game. We won the first 2 matches then traded the next 3 with Brighton, to lead 3-2 going into the final match. We won the first game 21-15, lost the next one 8-21, then closed out the best of three with a close 21-17 win. Bravo Ladies!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

In a Horsham derby, the Men's D3 team remained undefeated by downing Holbrook Team B with a 4-2 score. We roared out to an early 3-0 lead only to see Holbrook battle back to make it 3-2. In the final best of 3 match, we lost the 1st game 20-21, but came back to take that series, 21-18 and 21-16. Well Done Horsham!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Thanks for all the fan support. We came in force and were very vocal. 📣📣 🎉🪇 For a while there, I thought the ushers were going to kick a few of us out.😬

Horsham Pickleball Club drops one away.

On 2-Feb, our Ladies D2 team lost to a tough Brighton team, 2-4.

The ladies played some very hard fought matches and we saw several good rallies. Although we lost 2-4, it was closer than the final score indicates. 3 of the 6 (best of 3) matches went to a 3rd game. In a 4th match we lost 18-21, 18-21.

It was a very good effort where 2 of our 4 players were coming back to the court after a few weeks off.

D3 Men win on the road.

Our Horsham Pickleball Club's D3 Men's team remains undefeated by winning on the road, 4-2, on 20-Jan, avenging last November's 3-3 draw and handing Holbrook Team A their first loss of the season.

There was plenty of fast, hard-hitting action and some very exciting rallies. Our guys' quick reflexes were on full display for this one.

Thanks to our supporters for their enthusiastic clapping and cheering 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Our presence was definitely felt.

The final fixture for January finds the D3 Women traveling to South Coast on Sunday, 25-Jan for a 12:30 - 2:30 pm matchup at the Davison Leisure Centre.

Mixed Results on 18-Jan For Horsham Pickleball Club

Although we played hard, in our first fixtures of the New Year, the Horsham Pickleball Club came away with a draw and 2 losses during more than 4 hours of good pickleball action.

In the 1st fixture of the day, our D2 Women battled to a 3-3 tie with Brighton. We won the 1st best of three, then just kept trading victories. It really was an exciting back and forth between two very evenly matched teams. We will get another "bite at the pickle" when we visit them on 2-Feb.

In our D2 Men's 1-5 loss against Brighton, at first glance, it could be seen as a dominant performance by Brighton. However, it is clear from the scoresheet that they did not dominate us. There were a few 18-21 and 19-21 scores. Both teams provided us with several exciting rallies and some excellent dinking. We'll play them again, away, on 2-Mar.

In the D3 Women's fixture, we were on our way to a 3-3 tie against Crowborough, but unfortunately, in the final best of 3 matches, after we won the 1st game 21-20, the entire fixture had to be abandoned in the middle of the 2nd game, because it was time for the Sports Hall to close. So, the final score was 2-3 for Crowborough. There were some well-played games and a lot of whooping and hollering from our fans. We'll face Cowborough again, at home, on 8-Mar.

Thanks to the dozen supporters for coming out to cheer us all on our players appreciate it very much.

The final 2 fixtures for January find the D3 Men traveling to take on Holbrook, 7 - 9 pm on Tuesday, 20-Jan and the D2 Women traveling to South Coast on Sunday, 25-Jan for a 12:30 - 2:30 pm match up.

On 14-Dec, our D3 Men’s team turned in a dominant performance, shutting out Brighton 6-0. On the way to victory, we did not lose a single game in any of the best of 3 series.
