🔥 Ring O’ Fire 2026 Final Countdown….!
Over 200 runners are signed up and set to join us this coming Friday 4th September for this year’s series of races, including the Firelighter 50, Ring O’ Fire 130, and the new-for-2026 relay option!
With race day now imminent, it’s a great time for the runners to do their final race prep checks:
🚙 TRAVEL & REGISTRATION: Plan your route to race start https://ringofire.co.uk/services/getting-here/ and decide whether you’ll be registering on Thursday 3rd or pre-race Friday 4th. https://ringofire.co.uk/services/registration-race-essentials-pick-up/
👟 KIT: Ensure you have all kit required to complete your race distance. The mandatory kit is the bare minimum, make sure you include any additional personal (i.e. medical care) or weather-specific items as needed. https://ringofire.co.uk/services/kit-list/
🗺️ ROUTE / HONESTY BOOKS: Familiarise yourself with the route and location of honesty books. If utilising the GPX file (for guidance only), make sure it’s loaded onto your device and functional. If carrying maps, laminate or carry in a plastic wallet if not already waterproof. https://ringofire.co.uk/services/navigation-maps/
🌊 TIDE: Note tide times and sections of route affected by tide. The maps note all beaches with a high tide alternative. Please use good judgment around tidal sections, and don’t subject yourself to unnecessary risk. https://ringofire.co.uk/services/navigation-maps/
🍽️ CHECKPOINTS: All runners must present themselves at all checkpoints within their race distance. Understand where these are and facilities available at each. Resupply bags will be available at certain points.

Am I lost?
Not if you’re carrying maps🔥
While advanced navigational skills aren’t required, a basic understanding is necessary. We strongly recommend carrying a map, compass, and GPS device.
Self-sufficiency and sound judgment are mandatory as checkpoints can be up to 20 miles apart, and the terrain is challenging. The weather can change quickly, and you may spend many hours running through the night in harsh conditions.
The final route is detailed in our downloadable Map Pack, available about two weeks before the race to accommodate any last-minute changes🔥
