Let's talk about full body workouts.

I rarely programme anything other than full body workouts for my clients

& here is why

Majority of my clients do not train enough to warrant a body part or upper/body split.

I'm not against them, I think they are great.

For my clients that train 1-2 times per week we do full body workouts as they are more dense sessions and allow the client to move from upper and lower movements to ensure we spread out their fatigue.

Going from a lower to an upper movement gives the client more time to recover and ends to better performance with this little rest between muscle groups

Full body workouts also give a really varied session, we have an entire body to train so the movements we can use are endless.

Now for the science bit ... research currently states that hitting a muscle group twice a week is optimal for muscle growth and with a full body session this allows that to happen.

I also tend to do full body workouts myself for these reasons.

So don't let anyone over complicate your workout structure, do what feels go for you. 🤎🤍

Scale weight is not the be all and end all.

1. The scales don't tell you about your body composition eg. muscle mass v body fat

2. All humans fluctuate on the scales daily, and women even more so

3. It's a stick you've used to beat yourself with since you were a teenager when in fact it's not always as important as you think.

You wouldn't care what you weighed if you were happy with how you felt about yourself. So let's start with that. 🤎🤍

Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your current routine, here are some essential tips to guide you on your path.

First and foremost, setting realistic goals is crucial.

Start by establishing clear, achievable objectives that motivate you. Instead of focusing solely on weight loss or muscle gain, consider setting performance-based goals such as improving your stamina, flexibility, or strength. This approach not only provides a broader perspective on health and fitness but also celebrates various forms of progress, making the journey more rewarding.

Consistency is key to seeing results.

It's better to engage in moderate activity regularly than to push yourself too hard occasionally. Develop a routine that fits your lifestyle and stick to it. Remember, it's okay to miss a workout or indulge in your favourite foods once in a while. What's important is bouncing back and not letting one slip-up derail your entire journey. Incorporate a variety of exercises to keep your workouts interesting and cover different aspects of fitness, such as cardiovascular health, strength training, and flexibility.

Lastly, listen to your body and prioritize recovery.

Pay attention to what your body is telling you.
If you're feeling exhausted or experiencing pain, allow yourself time to rest and recover. Incorporating rest days into your routine and engaging in activities like yoga or meditation can significantly enhance your physical and mental well-being.

Remember, health and fitness is a personal journey that is as much about nurturing your mind and spirit as it is about transforming your body.

By setting realistic goals, maintaining consistency, and listening to your body, you can navigate your health and fitness journey with confidence and resilience.

Celebrate every small victory along the way, and remember that the pursuit of health is a lifelong journey, not a destination.

Still need some help, then hiring a personal trainer will help you to establish and maintain the above.
