A disappointing result today.
A slow start saw us concede inside the first 20 seconds, which really knocked the stuffing out of us. Then, after just 20 minutes, our keeper was injured and we had an outfield player having to go in goal, making an already tough task even more of an uphill battle.
We then conceded a bizarre second goal. Everyone had stopped for what looked like a bad foul, apart from the switched-on Saxons player, who played to the whistle and finished into an empty net. 2–0 down at half-time.
A much-needed wake-up call at half-time, and we came out flying. Turk scored within the first minute of the second half to make it 2–1, and suddenly it was game on.
Both teams were creating chances, and it felt like the next goal would be huge. We were pushing for the equaliser, but unfortunately the next goal went to the other end to make it 3–1. We kept going right until the end, but the game was ultimately gone.
A great performance from Turk, who deservedly picked up Man of the Match and got himself on the scoresheet, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get us anything from the game.
