I used to tell myself I couldn’t start my own business.

“It isn’t for someone like me. It won’t work for someone who comes from where I come from.”

And guess what? That’s exactly how I lived.

No risk-taking. Playing it safe. Hiding from what I truly wanted, all because I believed the story I kept telling myself.

So, what story are you telling yourself about why you can’t lose weight, get in shape or become fu***ng unstoppable?

“I’m too busy.”
“I’ve tried everything.”
“I don’t have the discipline.”
“I’ll start when life calms down.”

Be careful, the story you repeatedly tell yourself can quickly become the life you accept.

My client joined Leader 365 at the start of the year after years of trying to get in shape on his own.

He’s in his mid-40s with a busy life, work responsibilities and all the pressures that come with it.

Like a lot of men, losing weight wasn’t always the problem.

Keeping it off was.

He’d train, eat better and make progress. Then life would get busy, routine would disappear, nutrition would become reactive and old habits would creep back in.

Fast forward to now…

33KG DOWN. 💪🏻

But the weight loss is only part of the transformation.

It’s one thing getting the weight off. It’s another becoming the man who keeps it off.

He now trains consistently, takes control of his nutrition and is becoming fitter, stronger and more physically capable.

We’ve also shifted the focus towards performance. He’s taken up running and we’re now working towards his first 10K.

Because eventually, your goal should become bigger than the scales.

⚔️ Can I run a 10K?
⚔️ Can I get stronger?
⚔️ Can I improve my fitness?
⚔️ What is my body capable of?

A big turning point came when we identified his pattern of reactive nutrition.

He realised that even when work gets hectic and life becomes demanding, he still controls his daily decisions.

That’s what makes results sustainable.

Not another 8-week diet.
Not relying on motivation.

It’s building the habits and behaviours of a man who takes care of himself regardless of what life throws at him.

And being in your 40s doesn’t mean your best physical years are behind you.

33kg down is a brilliant achievement, but this is only the warm-up.

Now we’re building towards bigger goals.

Because leadership starts with learning to lead yourself.

That’s what we do inside Leader 365.

Champion this era of your life. 💪🏻

The Post-Fight Plan That Changed Everything for Me

One of the hardest parts of fighting for me actually happens after the fight.

For weeks, sometimes months, everything has a purpose.

I know when I’m training.
I know what I’m eating.
I know what I’m working towards.

Then the fight happens… and suddenly, it’s over.

Your body has just gone through this massive period of stress and stimulation. Adrenaline, dopamine, anticipation, nerves , everything is heightened.

Then you go from all of that… to nothing.

And personally, I’ve always found that transition difficult.

I enjoy the rest at first, but then I struggle to get myself back into my normal routine.

So I realised I needed to stop just hoping I’d feel ready again.

I needed a post-fight plan.

Now I actually put structure around my downtime.

I decide how long I’m going to properly rest. I know when I’m going to start moving again. I slowly introduce the gym and training instead of expecting myself to go straight back to 100%.

Because I know myself.

I operate better with structure.

And I’ve also learned that after a fight, I don’t need to be achieving at the same level.

Sometimes the plan is to recover.

Sometimes the win is simply getting back into routine.

Having that structure waiting for me after the fight has made a massive difference to how I handle the comedown and get myself moving forward again.

If you’re a man who wants to improve your running and get a new PB, you don’t need to train like a professional athlete.

But you do need a plan.

One of the biggest mistakes I see guys make is just going out and running the same distance, at the same pace, every single week and wondering why they’re not getting any faster.

Your training needs some structure.

You need easier runs where you’re building your fitness. You need some faster interval work where you’re pushing the pace. And you need longer runs that gradually build your endurance.

Then it comes down to doing the basics really well.

Getting enough sleep. Eating properly. Staying hydrated. Doing some strength work. Recovering between sessions.

But most importantly, being consistent.

You don’t need the perfect running programme.

You need a good plan that fits around your work and family life, and you need to follow it long enough to actually see the results.

If you want a new PB, stop just going out and running.

Start training with a purpose.

A good day of training, back to my usual routine after some time off.

It’s not easy getting back into it. Your body feels rusty, your motivation isn’t quite there and it’s very easy to tell yourself you’ll start properly tomorrow.

But sometimes you really do just need to get a sweat on and get moving.

Today has included men’s running club to start the day, followed by my own gym session then tonight it was back in the gym for some shadow boxing and interval training.

A tough day, but a good one. It reminded me of something I talk about a lot with the men I coach: what you do in your spare time matters.

I’m not just talking about training. It’s what you choose to do when work is finished. What you watch. Who you spend time with. Whether you get outside. Whether you learn something. Whether you sit on the sofa for another three hours or actually do something that makes you feel good.

Those choices might seem insignificant in the moment, but they add up. They influence your energy, your mindset, your confidence and ultimately how you hold yourself.

You don’t need to spend every evening training like I did today. You just need to be intentional with the time that belongs to you. Because how you spend your spare time is often a reflection of the standards you hold for yourself.

And sometimes, getting back on track starts with something as simple as getting a sweat on. ⚔️

There’s nothing that clears my head quite like going for a run. Whether it’s an early morning run before the day starts or a late-night run when everything is finally quiet, running has been part of my training programme for years.

Most people see running as cardio. For me, it’s always been more than that. It’s where I think.

I’ll go out thinking about my business, my goals, what I’m working towards or something I need to figure out.

Sometimes I come back with more clarity than I had when I left. Other times, I don’t want to think about anything at all.

I just want to switch off from work, get outside and have some time to myself. It helps me think clearly. Some of my best ideas have popped into my head whilst out running for my business and growth.

And I think that’s something men underestimate. We spend so much of our lives switched on thinking about work, family, responsibilities, phones, emails, decisions.

Sometimes you don’t need another podcast, another book or another piece of advice. You just need to get outside and move. For me, running gives me that space.

When I have low motivation, the first five minutes of a run can be brutal but by the end I’m back to being my best because all I needed was to get my body moving and my mind thinking clearly.

It’s not just training my body. It’s where I reset my mind.

This is your sign to get your body moving, not just for the physical benefits but for the mental. You’ll surprise yourself with the clarity, the peace and the ideas that come along with you.

Motivation is great when it shows up. But you can’t build progress around a feeling.

Some days you’ll feel fired up. Other days, you won’t want to know.

That’s why I focus on systems over motivation.

A routine you can stick to.

A plan for the bad days.

Small actions repeated consistently.

You don’t need to feel motivated every day, you need a system that keeps you moving when you’re not.

Build the system. Trust the process. Let consistency do the work. đź’Ş

A lot of my resilience I actually picked up from my mum.

The thing about my mum is, no matter how she has been treated in the past, no matter how unwell she got, no matter how she was feeling - she never let that get her down. She always continue to fight and keeps going, determined that things are going to get better.

There were some really tough days where even I wondered how she kept going, but she did. Her determination was stronger than anything that tried to bring her down. She never gave up and somehow, she always found a way to keep moving forward.

I think that’s where a lot of my own resilience comes from. Watching her taught me that no matter how difficult things become, you keep fighting, you keep believing things can get better and you keep going.

No matter what she was going through, she still poured so much love to her children. Everything I do, I do it for a bigger reason than just myself.

The life I grew up in taught me that resilience wasn’t just something you had, it was something you needed. Without it, you could easily find yourself lost in an extremely dark place.

Having the resilience I do has made me realise how important it is. It allowed me to bounce back from all the failures, the rejections and setbacks I’ve faced on my journey.

There have been moments where things haven’t worked out the way I wanted them to but resilience has taught me that a setback is a reason to try again. What they don’t tell you is those moments are the ones that make you stronger and more determined.

So when I look at everything I’ve overcome, I know where that strength comes from. I got it from my mum.

Went to the gym, avoided the weights, pedalled for ten minutes and left.

A lot of men fear looking weak, being judged or not knowing what to do in the weights section.

So they stay in their comfort zone, waste time on random machines and leave without following a real plan.

The mistake isn’t starting small.

The mistake is training without purpose.
Start with a simple routine, learn the basic movements and focus on improving a little each week.

You don’t need to impress anyone.

You just need to be consistent and have a plan that deliver results.

Leader 365 was never meant to be just about getting fitter.

We lose 10kg.

We get leaner.

We get stronger.

We run new PBs.

We set new performance levels and achieve things physically that once felt out of reach.

But that’s only part of it.

Because somewhere along the way, the discipline required to change your body starts showing up in the rest of your life.

You follow through on the goals you set.

You handle difficult weeks differently.

You take ownership of your time.

You create better boundaries.

You become more consistent in your work, relationships and responsibilities.

That’s what these check-ins show.

These aren’t carefully written testimonials.

They’re real answers from men doing the work and noticing that the person they’re becoming extends far beyond fitness.

The physical results matter — and we’ll keep chasing them.

But the body is only the beginning.

Leader 365 is about becoming a man who can lead himself, hold himself to a higher standard and show up that way 365 days of the year.
