This Saturday we welcome Earlston RFC to Volunteer Park to kick off the league season.
Bar + Diner open throughout, Club Draw on the go and a Free Bouncy Castle for everyone to enjoy, it would be great to see it busy up at the club as the team looks to start their season with a positive result after working hard in pre season.

Thanks very much to Hawick Golf Club. for a great day on the course, it is in immaculate condition considering the dry summer we’ve had and a great place for anyone to play golf in the borders. Thanks to Gordon Adams for organising it all.
Well done to everyone who played today, the course etiquette was top notch and you have been a credit to the club. I’m sure tonight will be well enjoyed.
Shot of the day went to Thomas Anderson who holed out on 15 for a 2 from the middle of the fairway.
We will play again for the shield next year and there will be sure to a few handicap changes with the high scoring winners we’ve had😂. Few Bandits to say the least.

Club Positions 2026/27!
Another request from club members this season after our club review was to produce a complete role list for all our committee members so that everyone could see who to contact during the season for help/assistance across the board.
Thanks to our expanding hard working committee for offering to fill these positions and hopefully with a wide spread of jobs covered by various people it should make everything a bit easier on match-days for everyone involved and for our supporters.

A great idea of having everything Borders Rugby in the same place!
This page covers everything from fixtures, team-sheets, events, club updates and things to get involved in throughout the season.
Help support our area by following Rugby In The Borders with the aim to reach out to as many people as possible of what is all happening and to help raise the numbers of players, coaches, committee members, club members, sponsors and supporters right across the board at all clubs!

Today’s Stags Head Bar Man of the Match was Liam Sharkey.
Liam made countless carries and plenty meters for the side today in a great performance from the number 8, getting us on the front foot on many occasions.
Well done Liam it’s great to see you back up and putting in a top performance!

Great effort from the lads today running Duns very close with a very makeshift side, credit to everyone who pulled the jersey on today and gave it their all. There will be a few sore bodies tomorrow.
We played some nice stuff at times and defended as well as we could but ultimately playing the last 20 minutes with most players out of position, 14 men on the park and with 3 determined committee men on was our downfall in the end despite a spirited effort.
Well done to Duns Rugby Club, missing a few themselves who managed the game better and came out on top in the end. We thank them for their hospitality and wish them all the best for the season ahead.
With our golf run next weekend we now turn our rugby interests to our league opener on September 5th at home to Earlston!

Squad for tomorrow’s trip to Duns Rugby Club for our final pre season game.
As you can see we are a bit light on players this week with 15 players unavailable but well done to some lads for stepping in to help get us on the road.
We now look forward to heading down to Duns to put on another good performance as the new season draws even closer.
If there are any lads wanting a game tomorrow or another club looking for their players to get some game time please get in touch as we’d appreciate the help and would be happy to accommodate anyone. Rugby In The Borders

This weekend we travel to Duns Rugby Club looking to build on our positive performance from the weekend.
Always a tough game down at Castle Park it should prove to be another tough test for the team as preparations for the new season come to a close.

A great shift from the lads today with Jed-Forest RFC coming out on top with 4 tries in the final 15 having only been 28-26 down after 65 minutes.
A good workout for both teams and thanks very much to Jed for coming over and we look forward to another game in near future.
Plenty positives for the team in a much changed squad to last season with all the lads stepping up well against a strong opposition.
Great to see so many of you down at the club today for our first hit out of the season!
