Huge congratulations to Beth Wilson!

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Beth has been selected for the 2026-2028 England Athletics Youth Talent Programme (YTP)! 🎉

The YTP is a national development programme for the top talented young athletes in the country, providing specialist coaching, training and education to help them reach their potential. Selection is highly competitive, and Beth has earned her place through her achievements to date, her commitment to training and her exciting potential for the future.

Beth is the first HY Athletic Club athlete to be selected for the programme, making this a particularly special achievement for both Beth and the club. ❤️🤍

Having only taken up pole vault in 2024, Beth’s journey is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work and the support of great coaches and a great club. We’re incredibly proud of her and can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🙌🏼💪🏼

A great day had by the club!

Days like these don’t happen without a lot of work and support from behind the scenes, from team managers organising registrations before the event and available on the day, to those transporting gazebos and equipment, being on hand to help athletes get ready with coach warm ups, and supporting every runner from the sidelines!

What a team! ❤️

British Masters success ❤️🤍

Matthew and Jenna Harmer took part in their first British masters competition in Derby last weekend and both walked away with huge pbs from relatively new sports to them
Matthew received a silver medal in the men’s m40 hammer and a bronze medal in the men’s m40 polevault with a new 20cm pb of 2.60m. Jenna took part in the women’s v35 hammer and received a silver medal with a huge 6.28m pb of 39.61m beating the world silver medalist from Degu just a couple of weeks before. What a brilliant weekend and a fabulous season end for them both

With an average of 3 new members joining every week we are now the largest athletics club in the local area with athletes from junior to masters competing at national and international levels
