Haslemere Festival is so proud to have been a partner in this Town of Culture bid. Whilst not successful, we are keen to continue working with all the local organisations to continue to bring cultural events to Haslemere.

Whilst may not have been one of the 15 UK towns shortlisted to be the 2028 Town of Culture, the committee are determined that the momentum the bid created should not be lost.
The bid may have been submitted as part of a national competition, but the vision it contains belongs to Haslemere.
Not all the ideas within the bid require a national title or a multimillion-pound programme.
And the competition has encouraged the town to look afresh at what it has, where the gaps are and what might be possible when organisations work together. It has already generated new relationships and a stronger sense that Haslemere’s cultural life should be celebrated, supported and made accessible to everyone.
