🚨 Haslemere CC Fantasy League – Gameweeks 15 & 16 Update 🚨

Evening all,

Apologies for the lack of an update last week, but that means double this week!!

Both XIs have picked up one win and one loss across the two weeks, whilst Leo Homewood STILL sits top of the Fantasy table. The Top 5 remains unchanged and its all looking a bit easy up the top.

Can he bottle it? We're all hoping.

Also a quick shoutout to Wrighty, who apparently spent hours meticulously researching his Fantasy teams using data analysis...

.. only to use his Double Gameweek chip and have ZERO players actually play.

Outstanding work, Psych Jones. The data clearly didn't account for cricket.

🏏 GW15 – The Good

Harry Hook – 146pts

58* runs, a couple of wickets and a couple of catches. Not a bad day out for the boy.

Harry Parker – 136pts

A very respectable 91* off 126 balls, carrying his bat from ball one. A proper knock.

Ben Haworth – 125pts

A 6-fer for Ben. And he still doesn't know what the top of off is.

One catch and, naturally, a duck to complete the full Ben Haworth experience. Hero.

He also spent the following week crying after being brought off an over early. 🐈

Scott Boxall – 86pts

61 runs in GW16 for Scotty.

Lovely stuff.

Ben Dudley - No longer in the negative points 🐈

πŸ¦† Duck Club

A difficult couple of weeks for Harry Pavia, two in a row, could he be on for the Hatty this week?

Ben Haworth and Chris Mundy also renewing their membership.

πŸ† Gameweek Winners

GW15 – Cindi Pretorius – Last Dance

A huge 361 points and a lovely Β£10 heading your way.

GW16 – Sharon Boxall – Shazza B

171 points and another crisp Β£10 note.

The Boxall family are slowly turning this into a second income.

πŸ† Mike Walsh Cup

I'll be honest, I haven't actually looked at it yet.

I'm sure there's been some movement.

Maybe.

Check the website tomorrow and, if I've remembered, there'll be an update waiting for you.

🚨 Haslemere CC Fantasy League – Gameweek 14 Update 🚨

A slightly quieter week on the fantasy front, with both XIs forgetting the objective was to win. The 1s came up just short against Grayswood, whilst the 2s were politely escorted back from Elsted after being rolled over.

Anyway... enough negativity.

A quick look at the table sees Leo Homewood still sat at the top. He's also continued his relentless campaign of asking where the fantasy updates are every three days.

We know you're winning, mate.

At this point I'm praying for a Gerrard-esque slip on the final day just to shut him up.

πŸ¦† Duck Club

A bumper week...

πŸ¦† Jack Hamilton (🎡Missed another straight one🎢)

πŸ¦† Elliot Ansell (HE wasn't away for long)

πŸ¦† Tom Roe

πŸ¦† Jamie Bacon

πŸ¦† Drew Lawery

Unlucky lads. Better luck next Saturday.

🏏 Who Did Well?

Harry Hook – 97pts

Nice to have him back after his brief exile. 4 wickets and some runs, nearly seeing the boys home.

Tom Bacon – 73pts

Very similar story to Harry, a couple of wickets ... But he bowls wayyyyy quicker, and he also didn't get out πŸ‘€

A. Ringer – 53pts

This week's mystery man was Elliot Ansell.

Four wickets and a duck.

The fantasy equivalent of taking two steps forward and on step back again.

Safe to say we've officially found his best discipline.

πŸ† Gameweek Winner

John Lally

Fresh back from international duty with the Ivory Coast, where he's apparently been whipping in balls from the left for Gibbo

He returns to Haslemere and immediately bags the Gameweek win. A lovely Β£10 heading your way.

β˜€οΈ President's Day 2026 β˜€οΈ

Evening all,

Just a quick follow-up after another fantastic President's Day at Haslemere CC.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Whether you were out in the middle, behind the BBQ, making the teas, pulling pints, or simply down at the club supporting, days like these only happen because so many people muck in.

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces alongside plenty of new ones, all coming together to enjoy a day of cricket. Judging by the scorecards, there was some pretty decent cricket played too... although we're sure everyone will remember their own highlights slightly differently after a few drinks.

Most importantly, it was another reminder of what makes Haslemere CC such a special club. Cricket is only part of it ... days like Sunday are about catching up with old friends, welcoming new members, and enjoying the club together.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it another memorable day.

Here's to the next one! πŸ’™πŸ’›

🚨 Fantasy League – Gameweek 13 Update 🚨

It's Thursday, which can only mean one thing... another fantasy update.

Another weekend, another double for the club. The 1s made comfortable work of Worplesdon & Burpham, whilst the 2s headed to Grayswood and batted like they had somewhere else to be.

A quick look at the table sees Leo Homewood still sat comfortably at the top. The chasing pack are beginning to look less like challengers and more like admirers.

🏏 Who did well?

A. Ringer – 146pts

Whoever invented this pick deserves a pay rise.

This week's mystery man was Will Tebbet, who casually picked up 6 wickets for the 2s. Outstanding stuff.

Turns out when he's not at home supervising his rabbits' love life, he's actually a pretty handy cricketer.

Well bowled Lennie. πŸ‡πŸ‡

Al Ho**er – 127pts

Oh brilliant... Al again.

"Look at me, I'm Al and I'm annoyingly good at everything."

127 points, more runs, more wickets.

Can someone else have a week, please? This is getting boring.

Robbie Judge – 123pts

A magnificent *88 **before Rash decided 260 was enough and pulled the plug.

Personally, I'd have given him another over at least, sorry mate.

πŸ‘ Other News

With two wins, there wasn't much to laugh at this week.

Even Elliot Ansell managed to avoid the Duck Club.

Admittedly he didn't play...

..but details like that have never stopped us before.

πŸ† Gameweek Winners

A tie this week!

Ben Dudley and Hannah Boxall both backed Judgey and The Ringer to finish on 296 points, meaning it's Β£5 each.

Spend it wisely.

β˜€οΈ REMINDER, THIS SUNDAY... PRESIDENT'S DAY! πŸπŸ”πŸ»

A little reminder that President's Day is this Sunday, and we'd love to see as many of you down at the Rec as possible.

Unfortunately, the I'Anson Rep side haven't been able to put a team together this year, but don't worry... there'll still be some form of cricket to enjoy, the bar will be open from 12pm, the BBQ will be fired up, and there'll be the usual questionable cricket on display.

President's Day has always been about more than just the fixture. It's one of those days where the whole club gets together, catches up, enjoys a few drinks and reminds ourselves why village cricket is the best.

So whether you've played for Haslemere for 30 years, joined this season, or just fancy spending a Sunday afternoon in the sunshine with a burger and a pint, get yourself down to the club.

Bring the family. Bring a deckchair. Bring your best sledges.

See you all Sunday! πŸ’™πŸ’›

🚨 Haslemere CC Fantasy League – Gameweek 12 Update 🚨

The 1s won away to Peper Harow for what was always going to be a spicy return fixture, whilst the 2s made light work of Tilford at home. Two wins, plenty of fantasy points, and most importantly... nobody got themselves banned this time.

🏏 Who's done well?

Rory King – 111pts

A classy unbeaten half-century opening the batting for the 2s, plus a cheeky stumping behind the sticks.

Not bad for someone who spent Thursday night telling everyone in the nets he "couldn't bat."

Chris Frost & Ollie Ellis – 69pts πŸ‘€

Nice.

Both bowled well.

Special mention to skipper Ollie, who produced a proper captain's innings at No.10, digging in alongside Triggs to see the 1s home. Not glamorous... but bloody important.

Chris Spooner – 67pts

Mr Three Leaves.

Left the cricket. Left the BBQ. Left a straight one.

Luckily he bowled well enough to claw some fantasy points back. Rumour has it he was taken off 2-3 overs too early...

Coincidentally, those rumours were started by Chris Spooner.

Tom Bacon – 67pts

The other half of that match-winning last-wicket stand, plus a couple of wickets for good measure.

Triggs loves cricket.

Luke Millard – 56pts

A calm unbeaten 46 helped Rory steer the 2s to a comfortable nine-wicket win.

πŸ¦† Duck Club

After a brief spell away...Jack Hamilton is BACK.

A leg-side ball somehow found his own stumps. It takes a special talent to get bowled by something that wasn't really aimed at them.

Good to have you back, Ham.

We could mention everything else that went wrong this weekend... but seeing as both sides won, we'll let everyone off.

Even myself dropping an absolute sitter on the livestream.

These things can happen... apparently.

πŸ† Gameweek Winner

Sharon Boxall – Shazza B

184 points and a lovely little Β£10 heading your way.

The Boxalls are slowly taking over the fantasy league.

β˜€οΈ PRESIDENT'S DAY IS ON SUNDAY 2ND AUGUST! πŸπŸ”πŸ»
One of the best days in the Haslemere CC calendar is nearly here!

In two weeks we welcome the I'Anson Representative XI to the Rec to take on the President's XI in what promises to be a cracking afternoon of cricket.

πŸ“ Haslemere Recreation Ground
πŸ• First ball: 1:00pm
🍺 Bar open from 12:00pm

Expect plenty of good cricket, questionable captaincy decisions, the odd spectacular catch (or drops) and a few cold ones.

Whether you're a player, junior parent, club member, former player or just fancy an afternoon in the sunshine with a burger and a beer, we'd love to see you down at the Rec.

Bring a deck chair, bring the family, and if you're planning on enjoying a few Vodka Rios afterwards, please try not to end up in a random building site. Leo's already tested that strategy.

See you there! πŸ’™πŸ’›

🚨 Haslemere CC Fantasy League – Gameweek 11 Update 🚨

Afternoon all,

Another cracking weekend of cricket.

The 1st XI travelled to The Bourne under the authoritarian rule of stand-in skipper Chris Spooner. Morale was reportedly low, fun was banned, but a comfortable win was secured before the troops were marched back to the Rec to watch the 2s pull off an absolute last-wicket heist, with skipper Jamie Bacon nervelessly knocking off the winning run.

At the top of the fantasy table... not much has changed. Leo Homewood is still the man to catch, with Kev Gray refusing to let him get too comfortable.

🏏 Who did well?

Brett Pretorius – 75pts

Finally handed the ball and showed everyone how to clean up a tail.

Nothing flashy. Just full, straight and effective.

Turns out bowling at the stumps works. Who knew?

Al Ho**er – 64pts

Oh look... Al's here again.

A few runs, a couple of wickets and another week of making fantasy managers very happy.

Can someone else have a good game please? I'm running out of ways to say "Al did well."

πŸ‘ Other Notable Scores

Solid contributions from A. Ringer, Leo Homewood, Ben Haworth, Jack Hamilton, Chris Spooner, Scott Boxall and Lee Clement, all picking up around the 40-50 point mark.

A special mention to Ben Haworth, whose composed 48 anchored the 2s innings beautifully. He's quietly put together a couple of really good weeks and deserves a bit of credit.

πŸ¦† Duck Club

The hottest prospect in the Duck Club right now is Elliot Ansell.

Three ducks in a row for Haslemere...

..and rumour has it he picked up a fourth on Sunday elsewhere.

πŸ† Gameweek Winner

Brett Pretorius and CJ Ho**er somehow managed to pick the exact same fantasy team, leaving them tied on top ... again .... boring.

Β£5 each coming your way.

Either great minds think alike... or neither of us had a clue what we were doing.

For the full league table, player stats and the latest Mike Walsh Cup fixtures, head over to the Haslemere CC website.

🚨 Fantasy League – Gameweek 10 Update 🚨

Evening all,

A good weekend for the club with both XIs picking up wins, which can only mean one thing... fantasy points.

A quick look at the table sees Leo Homewood still clinging onto top spot, but the biggest mover this week was Gavin Howard, whose Double Gameweek chip catapulted him into the Top 5 with a monstrous 638 points. Fair play.

🏏 Who did well?

Ollie Ellis – 164pts

The 1st XI skipper has FINALLY justified his price tag.

After weeks of gentle abuse in the WhatsApp chat, he responded with 7 wickets against Headley, before taking another 3 in Sunday's I'Anson rep game (sadly they don't count... trust me, I checked).

Typical though... finds form and then disappears again this weekend. Convenient.

Harry Parker – 95pts

Seven overs of bowling cutters on a Fernhurst minefield eventually paid off.

4 wickets, a few not out runs and a tidy fantasy haul. Rumour has it he only bowled that well because he knew the livestream cameras were on him. Loves the spotlight.

πŸ¦† Duck Club

Only one official member this week...

Drew Lawery, unfortunately chopping on early.

The rugby lads also had a couple of ducks after kindly helping us out, but fortunately for them they're not on the fantasy roster... this year.

A special mention to A. Ringer, who somehow keeps delivering every single week. Starting to look like the bargain of the season.

πŸ‘€ Gibbo Watch

The self-proclaimed People's Prince was named in the 2nd XI...

..before pulling out the second another player became available.

Strong availability. Weak commitment.

πŸ† Gameweek Winner

Gavin Howard – Team Trio

319 points, doubled to 638 courtesy of the chip.

A well-earned Β£10 coming your way.

The Mike Walsh Cup is also moving into the next round, so head over to the website to see who's still dreaming and who's already booking next year's revenge.

🧠 QUIZ NIGHT IS THIS SATURDAY! 🍻

Right then, here's your reminder...

After a full afternoon of cricket, why not stick around and see if you're actually as clever as you tell everyone you are.

This Saturday evening it's the annual Haslemere CC Quiz Night, kicking off at 7:30pm in the clubhouse.

πŸ‘₯ Teams of 3–6
πŸ’· Β£5 per person
πŸ† Winning team takes home half the quiz takings
And if that's not enough to tempt you...

🏴 England vs Norway in the World Cup Quarter Final will be on afterwards, so there's every reason to make an evening of it. A few drinks, a bit of healthy (or unhealthy) competition, then hopefully watch England book their place in the semis.

Whether you're a cricket expert, a pub quiz specialist, or someone who just shouts the wrong answer with absolute confidence, we'd love to see as many of you there as possible.

Bring your teammates, your family, your mates from down the road...

See you Saturday! 🍻🧠🏏
