Haslemere Karate Academy

Everyone at the clubs wishes Molly the best of luck as she starts university in early September.
Yesterday was her last days training with us until the New Year, as she's off to Medical School in St Andrews for 6 years.
A top hard working student, who always gives 100% in training and is a pleasure to have at the clubs.

Several Haslemere Karate Academy students attended a week long Summer Course in Weston-super-Mare this week, with 3 guest instructors from Japan, Hijikata Sensei, Kawano Sensei, Tanemura Sensei, all old boys of Nihon University karate club
Well done to Anne who passed her 2nd Dan after a tough 5 days training & challenging grading and did the clubs proud.
Haslemere Karate Academy runs every Wednesday evening at Shottermill Junior School, GU27 1JF during term times.
Kids class (6+ years old) 6.30-7.30pm
Adult/teen class 7.30-9.00pm.
New students always welcome, first lesson is free.

Last karate session tonight at Shottermill Junior School, before a break until the first week of September.
Please do come and join us if you are around and want to train today.

Unfortunately the Haslemere class is closed tonight, due to the end of term school production in the main hall at Shottermill Junior School.
It will be back on as normal next week, 15th July. 👊

Students from Haslemere Karate Academy, joined over 200 other committed karate practitioners in Paris. France at the weekend, where Wado-Ryu Grandmaster Hironori Otsuka III, conducted a 3 day seminar.
The course concentrated on fundamental techniques & improving body movement.
Our Haslemere class runs every Wednesday evening at Shottermill Junior School in Lion Lane.

19.30-21.00 adults & teens class.

Last week was exactly 20 years ago that we hosted a visiting group of Wado karate students from Tokyo, Japan for the evening, at our Haslemere dojo.
We did some demos, so did they and we then trained together for a couple of hours together.
A great evening...this short Idori demo was a crowd pleaser!
We train every Wednesday evening term time at Shottermill Junior School.

An excellent 5 days of intense training at the Winter Course in Guildford this last week.
Lovely to see & train again with our Wado family from so many countries.
The clubs had 3 students taking 2nd Dan at the end of the course.
Sadly Tom & Greg didn't make the grade this time, but congratulations to Nick who passed at the second attempt.
Well done for taking on the challenge gents, and thanks to all from the clubs who attended during the week and the instructors for their knowledge. 🙏👌👍👏

We always used to say nobody fails their red belt...12 years ago, Luke as a 6 year old kid, was the first who actually did!
Last night aged 18, he passed his 3rd kyu brown belt with flying colours.
He showed great technique and his karate couldn't be more different now! 👊
