Stats for event #24!

Big thanks to our amazing volunteers, especially those new to parkrun and stepped up at the last minute to ensure we could go ahead this week🦺

Also, a big thank you to everyone for heeding the request to stick to the avenue and keep off the grass around the lime trees 🌲 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ 🌲

❗️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ❗️

🌱PLEASE KEEP OFF THE GRASS (ON THE AVENUE)!🌱

Harpenden Town Council have asked us to ensure that all our parkrun participants stick to the path when heading up the Avenue. Their Park Rangers who look after the park are very concerned that we are damaging the grass areas bordering the Avenue, and the underlying tree roots.

We know it can be busy and people are keen to find space as they set off. However it's really vital that we heed these concerns and avoid straying from the path when heading up the Avenue.

From tomorrow we will be taking steps to address this, including a narrower start line - please appreciate that we must do this to protect the grass as per the Council's request. If we continue to have participants on the grass it risks our continued licence.

We've had several folk come forward to help so now have enough 🦺 marshals - panic over and we will be going ahead.

Excitingly, many of our marshals tomorrow are completely new to parkrun 🥳 so please do give them all an extra special super cheer as you go past and make them welcome.🤩

Dont forget you can help keep the RDs calm and happy by volunteering ahead of time - just drop us a line if you'd like to help out in future weeks.

Help still needed this weekend! Especially short on marshals - we usually have 8 and only have 2 so far, which is not enough!

Also need a vital timekeeper role filling, and a funnel manager too.
