A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 9th Lions Open International Karate Championships yesterday.

We were honoured to welcome 32 clubs from across England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and Algeria 🇩🇿, bringing together hundreds of athletes, coaches, officials, parents and supporters for a fantastic day of karate.

Your energy, sportsmanship, respect and passion for karate made the event a true celebration of our sport and everything it stands for.

🙏 A special thank you to our incredible volunteers, staff, table officials, judges and referees. Your hard work behind the scenes is what made this event possible. We would also like also to extend our sincere appreciation to Gary Hoyle, our Chief Referee.

❤️ Thank you also to our dedicated Medical Team and staff for helping ensure a safe, enjoyable and successful event for everyone involved.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the clubs who have registered and completed their Phase 1 entries. Your support is truly appreciated and helps us continue building a great event for everyone.

At the moment, we have 315 entries from 22 clubs, which is fantastic to see.

If any clubs would still like to add more competitors, entries will remain open at the Phase 2 entry fee for one more week. After that, from 30th May to 7th June, the Phase 3 entry fee will apply.

Please note that if we reach our competition capacity limits, entries may close earlier than the final deadline, so we kindly encourage clubs to complete any additional registrations as soon as possible.

As mentioned previously, this year we will be running the competition on 5 areas only, allowing more space and a better experience for competitors, coaches, and spectators.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all on Sunday 21st June and sharing another great day of karate together.
