This National Fitness Day, we’re celebrating the important role movement plays in postnatal health. Regular movement can also support your energy, mood and overall wellbeing, helping you feel stronger and more confident as you navigate life as a mum.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to postnatal exercise. It’s about finding movement that feels right for you, at your stage of recovery, and remembering that even a little can make a difference.

Come along to our class and get moving - click the link in bio or drop me a DM 😊

🚨 3 Diastasis Recti myths I wish every mum knew… 🚨

If you’re pregnant or postpartum, chances are you’ve heard something about diastasis recti.

But how much of it is actually true? 🤔

Let’s bust 3 of the most common myths:

❌ MYTH 1: “Diastasis recti is dangerous for mum and baby.”
Diastasis recti is a common part of pregnancy and, by itself, isn’t considered dangerous to you or your baby.

❌ MYTH 2: “You can prevent diastasis recti during pregnancy.”
Unfortunately, there’s no guaranteed way to prevent it. Your abdominal wall has to adapt and stretch as your baby grows. What we can do is support your body through pregnancy with appropriate movement, strength and pressure management.

❌ MYTH 3: “Once you have it, it’s too late to do anything about it.”
Absolutely not! 🙌🏼 Your body is incredibly adaptable. Whether you’re pregnant, 6 weeks postpartum or years down the line, there are ways to work on core function and strength.

💗 Your postpartum body isn’t broken. It doesn’t need fixing — it needs understanding, support and the right approach.

And this is exactly why I believe education around pre & postnatal exercise is so important.

Which of these myths have YOU heard before?
1️⃣ Dangerous
2️⃣ Preventable
3️⃣ Nothing can be done

Did you know that around 60% of pregnant women experience some degree of diastasis recti? 🤰🏼

Diastasis recti is SO commonly talked about during pregnancy and postpartum — but there’s also a lot of conflicting information about what you should and shouldn’t do. 😅

The truth is, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Every pregnancy, every body and every recovery is different. ❤️

And no, having diastasis recti doesn’t mean you have to stop exercising altogether!

✨ The key is understanding your body
✨ Choosing movements that are appropriate for you
✨ Learning how to manage pressure through your core
✨ And getting the right support when you need it

That’s where a qualified pre & postnatal fitness instructor can help — working alongside your healthcare professionals where appropriate and adapting exercise to your individual needs.

Let’s break the stigma and the confusion around postpartum exercise. 💪🏼

💬 Mums — did you know what diastasis recti was before pregnancy, or was it completely new to you?

Save this post for later 📌 and follow me for realistic, supportive pre & postnatal fitness advice designed to help you feel stronger and more confident throughout your motherhood journey. 🤍
