We were lucky with the rain today for our family gardening session β it didn't arrive until we'd just finished πͺ
We've been picking potatoes, plums and raspberries and we enjoyed getting creative and designing our own bunting πππ¦ππͺ±
A lovely end to our summer activities. Next we're getting ready for the Calderdale Festival of Food sourdough workshop with RUSTIC SOURDOUGH BREAD AND BAKES and our stall at the Calderdale Food Gathering Halifax Borough Market

π± What a wonderful four days at the Seeds of Hope Festival! πΌ
We loved being part of Seeds of Hope Festival at Stage at the Lake, celebrating nature, community and everything that makes growing together so special.
Over the four days, we had the pleasure of chatting with so many wonderful people about The Outback Community Kitchen & Garden β sharing what we do, meeting new faces and hopefully inspiring a few more people to get involved with community gardening. πΏπ
And one of the highlights? Meeting Jason Williams β aka Cloud Gardener UK βοΈπ± It was fantastic to meet someone so passionate about gardening and growing.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with us and showed an interest in The Outback. And of course, a massive thank you to our amazing volunteers and community who helped make our mini Outback show garden possible.
What a brilliant few days β we loved every minute! π

πΌπ Celebrating Collaboration at The Outback! π§ΆπΏ
At Halifax Opportunities Trust, We Collaborate isnβt just a HOT value β itβs something we live every day. Last week, that spirit came to life in the most joyful and creative way.
Members of Staying Wellβs Knit & Natter group lovingly crafted a beautiful collection of handβknitted bees and birds, to be sold at the Seeds of Hope Festival, helping support The Outback Community Kitchen & Garden and the work we do together.
A huge thank you to everyone in the Knit & Natter group, your birds and bees went down a storm! π
