Unfortunately, the time has come for Halifax Bruising Banditas to hang up our skates and disband. We have done everything we can, but it is no longer possible to keep the team going. We have struggled with long-term injuries, people leaving for other teams or retiring from skating, low intake retention and numerous practice venue troubles. We have made amazing memories and lifelong friends, and we are so grateful for the experiences, for all the support we received and all players past and present. Thank you 💜💜💜

Trans people belong in sport, and roller derby especially. We've been made aware that some groups are trying to identify and "map" trans people's participation in sports and want to reiterate for anyone who still isn't quite sure that roller derby is inclusive and welcomes everyone, whatever their gender.

I want to join the sessions but I don’t have childcare, can I bring my children?

You are welcome to bring your children. There is space at the side of the hall where they can sit, entertain themselves and watch your awesome skills develop.
However, we cannot be held responsible for your children and you must supervise and be accountable for them at all times.
