MEN vs WOMEN IN TRAINING IS THERE REALLY A DIFFERENCE?
In short: ✅ Yes.
And ✅ No.
It depends.
The fundamentals of building muscle and strength are universal:
🔁 Progressive overload
🛌 Recovery
🥩 Nutrition
📈 Consistency
No exceptions. No shortcuts.
👊 Muscle is muscle.
Fundamentally, our muscles respond to tension, load and progression.
So yes:
➡️ You need to train hard.
➡️ You need to train heavy.
But heavy is relative to YOU.
Your training. Your strength. Your journey.
Stop comparing yourself with everyone else and stop overcomplicating it.
I’ve lived this.
Through my bodybuilding years , physique, body fitness and figure, the rules didn’t suddenly change because I was a woman.
I lifted heavy, I lifted consistently, same reps and sets as my male training partner.

Learn the movement. ✔️
Own the movement. ✔️
Only then add load and strengthen the movement🧨
Strength is a skill, skills take patience, practice and repetition.
Before you add more load, earn the right to add it.
Learn the technique.
Understand the position.
Control the movement.
Repeat it until it becomes yours.
Then get stronger. And when technique starts to breakdown the set or session is over.
Because strength training isn’t just about lifting heavier. It’s about lifting well ; with control, intent and confidence.
Master the basics first. The load comes later. 💪
What movement are you practising today?
Me, it’s swings…….,🫡

Don’t confuse weight loss with fat loss.
The scales only tell part of the story.
You can lose body fat, build muscle, change your shape and get stronger — without seeing a dramatic change in bodyweight.
And being lighter doesn’t automatically mean being healthier.
The problem with constantly chasing a lower number on the scales is that it can lead to:
☠️eating less and less
☠️doing more and more cardio
☠️low energy
☠️poor training
☠️loss of muscle
☠️eventually thinking, sod this, and giving up altogether.
Your body adapts. We are very good at adaptation and down regulating the metabolic system our fat burning furnace!
If you’re already eating very little and doing an hour of cardio every day, what happens when progress stalls?
Eat even less?
Add another cardio session?
Keep pushing until it becomes completely unsustainable?
Sometimes what we actually need is a re-feed and this doesn’t not mean eating junk! It means gradually increasing the calories over several weeks……honestly, trust me, it works!
There’s a better approach.
Get the basics right first.
🥩 Eat enough protein.
🥗 Base most of your diet around nutrient-dense, minimally processed food.
🏋️ Resistance train and build muscle.
🚶 Move regularly.
😴 Prioritise recovery and sleep.
📏 Track more than just bodyweight.
Look at your strength, measurements, clothes, energy, health, fitness and body composition.
Muscle matters — especially as we get older.
The goal shouldn’t simply be to weigh less.
The goal is to become stronger, healthier, leaner and more capable.
