Oldham Athletic Deaf FC 3–8 Rowan Wanderers

Our second friendly game ended in an 8–3 defeat against Rowan Wanderers, but there were still plenty of positives to take from the game.

With the heat and only 11 players available, it was always going to be a tough afternoon. Rowan started well and moved the ball around quickly, going into half-time 3–0 up. Umayr was excellent in goal and made some great saves to keep us in the game.

The second half was tough as the heat started to take its toll, but the lads kept going and didn't give up. We finished the game strongly, scoring three goals through Harvey Waldron, James Davis and Jordan Ardrey, including a brilliant long-range free kick from Jordan.

The team showed good character in the final stages and kept fighting right until the final whistle, which was a big positive to take from the game.

A big thank you to Rowan Wanderers for the game and for putting on a competitive friendly. We wish them all the best for the new season.

We’ll see you again on Sunday 6 September against OACT Over 30s for our final pre-season friendly before the EDF season starts.
