❓What are the Injury Risks of Overtraining?

⚡️Overtraining significantly increases the risk of both acute and overuse injuries in athletes due to the imbalance between training stress and recovery.

⚡️When training loads exceed the body’s capacity to adapt, tissues such as muscles, tendons, and bones are subjected to repetitive microtrauma without sufficient time for repair. This can lead to conditions like tendinopathy, stress fractures, joint pain, and muscle strains (Kreher & Schwartz, 2012).

⚡️Moreover, overtraining is linked to central fatigue and impaired neuromuscular coordination, which can compromise movement quality and biomechanics, elevating the risk of traumatic injuries during high-intensity sports (Meeusen et al., 2013).

⚡️Hormonal and immune suppression due to chronic overtraining may also delay tissue healing and increase susceptibility to illness, further elevating injury risk and slowing recovery (Bokhari & Khalid, 2023).

🔷Taping for Sports and Injuries - Why, When and How to use Taping.🔷

❓What is Taping?
Taping in sport refers to the application of adhesive tape around joints or muscles, aiming to prevent or provide increased perceived stability and reassurance. It is commonly used in areas like the ankle, wrist, knee, and shoulder.

✅Taping has become a widely used method in sport and rehabilitation, with some evidence to suggest it helps improve joint awareness, also known as proprioception.

✅Proprioception allows athletes to sense the position and movement of their joints without needing to look, which is crucial for balance, coordination, and injury prevention during high-demand activities like running, jumping, and changing direction.

❓How Does Taping Work?
taping works by stimulating the skin and the sensory receptors underneath it. This added sensory input sends stronger signals to the brain about joint position and movement, making athletes more aware of how their joints are moving in space. This can help muscles react more quickly and efficiently to sudden movements, reducing the risk of injury.
