⚽️ What a weekend for our Central Academy 2016s! ❤️🖤

Last weekend we entered a mixed Central Academy 2016 team into the Campsie FC Intermediate Festival. We brought together 6 players from the Blues and 4 players from the Blacks, and considering it was the first time most of them had ever played together, they were absolutely brilliant.

The football they produced throughout the day was a joy to watch. They played with confidence, worked tirelessly for each other, and showed great character from the first whistle to the last. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them.

The day got even better afterwards…

The players then headed straight to Grangemouth Stadium, where they had the honour of being mascots at the Scotland vs England Mental Health Charity Match. It was an unforgettable experience for them, walking out with the players and being part of such a fantastic event supporting an incredibly important cause.

They also had the chance to meet some fantastic names, including Scotland legend Colin Hendry, Ross McCormack, and Sanjeev Kohli (Navid from Still Game), making the day even more special.

A massive thank you to everyone involved in organising both events. Football is about so much more than winning games—it’s about creating opportunities, building friendships, making lifelong memories, and supporting one another.

We’re incredibly proud of every one of our players. You represented Central Academy with pride, respect, and a smile on your faces all day.

Lake District Football Festival 2026.

We took our Blues and Blacks and had an amazing time. Would highly recommended it ⚽️🩵🖤

Friday 1st May to Monday 4th May.

Each team played 7 games over 2 days (Sat & Sun)

Accommodation was at Solway Holiday Park, Cumbria and was only a short 15 min walk from the football pitches.

Solway holiday park was easily a 10/10

Great experience and team bonding for the kids ✌🏾

We had Gary Crooks from
Pro Performance Academy in to take a session tonight and what a session it was. Outstanding stuff and great to sit back and learn from the best.

The kids love these sessions and we are already looking forward to the next one.
