Attention 2 Detail

At all costs avoid using this s**t hole.
Took my wife's car for 4 new tyres the day before her MOT.
You can imagine how shocked I was to hear from the MOT station the next day that her car had failed as it had 1 wrong size tyre across the front axle.
They fitted 3 @ 195x55 16 and 1 @ 205x55 16.
Manager didn't seem that bothered that he'd put odd sized tyres on the front of a woman's car.
Only saving grace is the MOT was so soon after fitting or we'd never have known.
Leaving this feedback because their online feedback form didn't give me the option to write all this and it needed said.

Finally after a 3 day slog the garage floor is finished.

Floor all washed and decontaminated ready for the final push.
Been puting off painting the floor for so long but the time has arrived.

Trying out a couple of the wheel waxes I bought recently. Using them to prep new wheels before they go on the Capri.
Used 2 coats of RIM and topped with 2 coats of GRAPHENE. Looking good.

One of my favourites and went the extra mile in the time I had. I get so much pleasure working on British cars.

This was supposed to be a 2 stage correction but the paint wasn't having any of it. One of the thinnest yet hardest paints I've worked on.
The photos don't come close to showing the extent of the swirling.
Had to do a couple of tests 1st and concluded i had to go with Kosh Chemie heavy cut on a heavy cut microfibre.
Although this produced amazing results I wasn't happy.
Went over the car again with Cartec Diamond cut on a medium pad and focused on the prominent RDS .
Would have loved to have had this in for the week but it was a 2 day job.
I'm happy with the 95% swirl and scratch removal.

The 1st car I restored completely to its former glory. A few pics are missing and see the tiny workspace I had then too.

This is my own 1984 Ford Capri. Pics are just after I bought it 12 years ago.
Looked like it had never been introduced to polish in its life.
Those took a whopping 47 hours on the machine polishing this. Not counting decons and washes inbetween. Potentially 60-70 hours work but as you can see by the pics it was worth every second.
The before pictures are with a 600w halogen lamp. Can't even see the reflections as the paintwork was so milky

Vice restoration. This is about 45 to 50 years old. Was in the garage when i bought the house 20 years ago bolted to a table which had rotted away.
Now sits pride of place on my workbench.

I love restoring old items. The sense of achievement when it's finished is awesome. Here's an oil can I done this week because I needed one and didn't fancy a new plastic one at 20 quid so bought an old one and restored it. Works like a dream.
Can't decide whether to put the label back on and laquer over it.
