Yesterday the lads travelled to Haslemere for an away fixture against Shottermill & Haslemere Reserves.

3 points were needed and 3 points is exactly what they got.

Goals coming from Harry Gosden and a debut goal from Martyn Haslett.

Man of the match went to Harry and the kinder egg man of the match went to Jack Durbridge with a superb performance at left back.

Yesterday the lads were ready for their first game of the season, with a prolonged start to kick off, the game finally went ahead.

A poor performance from the lads in the first half, a penalty giving away which was saved by the post and a goal conceded.
Stern words said at half time and the lads went into the second half with a better attitude.
Shots taken but none hitting the back of the net until Luca Ayling stood up to take a free kick in final minutes, a smooth strike which made the score level.

Man of the match went to Charlie Sonley

Kinder man of the match went to Josh Brewster

Match day

This Saturday the lads are at home for the first game of the season against Upper Hale Reserves.

This season we have been put up another div into GWAFL Division 2, it will be a challenge but with some familiar faces and new blood the lads are ready to take it on.

Matt Tribe has stepped down as manager but is very much still part of the club and has dusted his boots off to help out the lads. Our new gaffa is James Elliott who was last years number 1 🧤, with his no nonsense attitude he will whip the lads into shape, he will also be helping out between the sticks if needed. Also Reece Alexander has been appointed captain 🫡.

Saturday the lads travelled to Shalford Park to play Weysiders in another preseason friendly.

After last weeks result behind them, the lads turned up with a fresher attitude and it clearly showed.

With a late goal conceded which didn’t matter as Farncombe come away with the win.
