Berkeley South Pony Club Members

A massive well done to Enid and Angel who represented Berkeley South pony racing at Newbury today. Enid came 5th in her class and Angel 8th in hers! Well done both, we are very proud of you and the way you are continuing the strong tradition of pony racing at Berkeley South👏 ❤️

A massive well done to Marney for passing her lunge test this week 🎉! This is the final step before Marney starts to sit her AH test modules over the coming months- the Pony Club’s highest test of horsemanship. Marney is our oldest branch member and has started to transition into a role where she is supporting our younger, or less experienced, members in their Pony Club journey so that she can remain involved beyond her 26th birthday and share the knowledge and skills she has built as a BSPC member. Well done Marney, we are very proud of you and grateful for the support you are giving to others at BSPC! ❤️

Huge well done to Clara, who represented the Branch and Area at the PC Nationals in the Showing this weekend and came an amazing 3rd!

Good luck to all of our members getting their A’Level results today! We hope they are results that reflect the amount of hard work you’ve put in and open the doors to your future plans!

Day two of ‘res’ was just as fantastic as day one! So many barriers pushed, so much confidence gained, so many smiles and so much laughter ❤️ Our three wonderful instructors- Ellie, Tanya and Alastair absolutely got the best out of their groups and everyone not only had fun but they learned lots too. What more can you ask?! Yet again it was all hands on deck to help and support each other, with our older members being fabulous mentors and support for our younger members and those who’d never attended a residential camp before. We are the luckiest branch to have such fabulous young people- thank you all for your hard work, encouragement and inclusivity throughout the camp. 🥰 Every single member earned their rosettes and badges through their hard work and fabulous attitude, well done to you all! 👏

We owe our wonderful committee member Sarah Armstrong the biggest of thanks for organising such a fun, relaxed, and incredibly enjoyable res. The number of conversations I had with people who want another one soon shows how much fun they had with this form of camp- so enjoy a rest while you can Sarah! 😜 Huge thanks also to all of the parents who came, camped, and supported every single young person- their young person or not! A very special team❤️❤️

Day one of residential camp at Rectory Farm is done! A wonderful day full of showjumping, flatwork, poles and grid and fantastic hacking❤️. Everyone has worked so hard and done themselves proud in their sessions. What has been wonderful to see is fantastic teamwork, support, and encouragement of each and every member- true BSPC values in action 👏 Away from the ridden activities there has been some truly memorable action- ‘chase me Charlie’ on foot saw some hilarious wins, followed by limbo which was the revenge of the small people and then seriously bendy action in the cardboard box game! 🤣 Happy ponies, happy children- bring on day two! ❤️

SUMMER CAMP – LEYLAND COURT 22 -24 August

We’re still planning a fantastic camp despite the hard ground. We’ll be making full use of the indoor arena, alongside the show jumping and dressage arenas, so there’ll still be lots of fun riding for everyone.

To help us finalise the timetable and instructors, please book on and pay your deposit. We may not be able to accept late bookings unless spaces become available.

Berkeley South Summer Camp 2026 Deposit Berkeley South Summer Camp 2026 Deposit opens on 22nd August 2026. This South West based horse event will take place at Leyland Court Equestrian Centre, Trench Lane, Bristol, BS36 1RY.

A huge well done to all of our members who competed at the Almondsbury Show on Sunday. It was truly wonderful to see so many of you taking part in the gymkhana, showjumping, showing and dressage! You did us all proud, and clearly had so much fun! A massive thank you to Lisa and Sarah B for being so involved in the committee planning such a wonderful event, and to our BSPC parents who helped us to deliver so much fun for our members!
