On Wednesday, we were honoured to be a part of a special moment for local resident Mary Barnes as a new su***de support bench, the first in Gloucestershire, that she organised and raised money for was formally revealed. It was a great turn out for the event, showing how Mary's efforts have already reached so many people.

Thank you to all those who supported Mary, including Micky Hazard at Legend on the Bench; Abbeymead Rovers walking football for fundraising; Gloucester City Council for providing the base; Jon Smith for publicising on BBC Radio Gloucestershire; Cllr Andrew Gravells; the Trustees and staff of Abbeydale Sports and Community Centre and Phoenix Cafe Bar for organising the location; and to all those who donated.
