Good luck to our teenage members who are getting their GCSE results today 🤞🍀

The ladies B team had their final match away at Frampton last night and confirmation of our promotion all came down to a championship tie break. 9-0 to us and you'd be forgiven for thinking it was in the bag. But the opposition broke back to 9-5 before Jill sent an amazing shot down their tramlines for victory, 1-5 - hurrah! Division 3 next year - eek!

Here are the stars of our latest coaching group fun tournament held yesterday morning. It's such fun and great to see everyone progressing so well. Congratulations to winners Jeff and Caroline who beat Lisa and Dave in a closely fought championship tie break 🤩

Another home match last night, with a great crowd of home supporters (well eight people, that's a crowd in Redmarley isn't it?) and another 3-1 win against Frampton. And crikey, we've only gone and got promoted with a game in hand 🤩🥳😱. Next year, Division 3 beckons - eeeek!

The Ladies B Team secured another win versus Nailworth on Friday night. This time we were the ones putting out the younger players and Laurel and Fliss played a great game. This higher division is definitely testing us and we're getting so much practice playing tie breaks.

Our penultimate match is at home to Frampton on Friday 7th August so do come along and support your local team!

Not content with playing league matches, we also have our own club tournaments during the summer. Yesterday afternoon Jill and Ros beat myself and Beccy in a very close match 6-3 3-6 1-0. Jill and Ros move onto the next round - good luck girls!

It was a very important day at the Club yesterday when Helen Williams and Helen Stevens from the Gloucestershire Lawn Tennis Association visited to present the Cathie Sabin Volunteer of the Year Award to our very own Richard Jenner.

The award was made in recognition of all the hard work Richard does in running our amazing coaching programme each week and in welcoming all our new members.
