There’s so much happening at the centre each week — whether you want to get active, learn something new, meet people, find support or simply get out of the house for a couple of hours. Everyone is welcome! ❤️

🏃 GET ACTIVE – Boxing, Fitness for Footy, Street Sports and more
🎨 LEARN & CREATE – Adult Education, Art Journalling, Sewing and Knit & Natter
👶 CHILDREN & FAMILIES – Parent & Toddler’s Group, Hangout Youth Club and activities for children and young people
🎯 SOCIAL & CONNECT – Darts, Connect Board Games, Knit & Natter and The Heating Project
💚 SUPPORT & WELLBEING – Phoenix Futures, Rethink, Open Recovery, PC Refurb and other community support.

🧶 Knit & Natter – Thursdays, 1–3pm – £2.50
Bring along your knitting or craft, enjoy a brew and a chat and meet some lovely people.

💚⚽ SUPPORT IS ALWAYS ON THE TEAM ⚽💚

Gamesley Community Group and Gamesley FC are incredibly grateful to be working alongside The Tomorrow Project, supporting individuals and communities with su***de prevention and providing support for those who have been bereaved by su***de.

The Tomorrow Project will be joining us at the Gamesley FC match at 1:30pm.

They’ll be there simply to listen, talk and support. There’s no pressure and no judgement. If you’re struggling yourself, worried about someone else, or have been affected by su***de, please come over and have a chat.

Their work is about promoting health and recovery, reducing isolation and distress, raising awareness and helping people develop the confidence and skills to support themselves and others.

Sometimes starting a conversation is the hardest part. Having support available in familiar community spaces can make that first step a little easier.

⚽ FITNESS FOR FOOTY IS BACK TOMORROW! ⚽

We’re kicking off the new season tomorrow at Gamesley Community Centre — and it’s completely FREE! 🙌💚

Designed for children aged 5–11, Fitness for Footy is a fun, welcoming session for ALL abilities. Whether they already love football or just want to have a go, come along and get involved.

⚽ Football skills & ball work
💪 Fitness & conditioning
🤝 Teamwork & confidence
🎯 Fun games & tactical skills
⭐ Quality coaching from a UEFA B & FA Youth Award coach

🌿 LOOK WHAT WE’VE CREATED AT GAMESLEY ROMAN GARDENS! 🌿

🩷Officially opening on 26th September🩷

Over the last few days, something rather special has been taking shape at Gamesley Roman Gardens – our beautiful new Mindful Garden. 💚

A huge thank you has to go to the wonderful Dan Steel, who not only kindly donated the plants from his RHS show garden, but then gave up his own time to come along and help us transform the space. Dan Steel was joined by his partner James, and together with local people they have helped create a garden that we hope will be enjoyed by our whole community. 🌸🌾🌿

A massive thank you also to Helen and Mat from The Bureau, Helen, Caitlin and Ant from and Gamesley Community Group, Clare from Friends of Whitfield Rec and Green Spaces , and all the community members who rolled up their sleeves, dug, planted, shifted soil and helped bring the garden to life. ❤️

Just look at the difference! We hope you’ll agree that it already looks absolutely wonderful. And as the planting establishes and grows, it should become an even more beautiful, peaceful space where people can sit, slow down, enjoy nature and take a little time out.

🌱 CAN YOU HELP US FINISH IT?

We’d now love to add the final touches. We are looking for donations of:

🪑 A strong outdoor bench – somewhere to sit, rest and enjoy the garden
🪞 An outdoor/garden mirror – to add interest, light and a sensory element
🌸 Extra plants – particularly suitable plants to fill our wooden planters

If you, a local business or organisation could donate any of these items, we would be incredibly grateful.

This is what community is all about – people giving their time, skills, plants and enthusiasm to create something beautiful for everyone.

Fancy trying something new this autumn? Whether you want to learn a new skill, explore a new career, get help finding work or simply meet new people, we’ve got some brilliant FREE courses and activities coming to Gamesley Community Centre. 💚

🌟 Step into Childcare – find out more about careers in childcare
🎨 Art Journalling – our popular creative group is back!
🧶 Crochet & Chat – learn a new skill with tutor support
💼 Job Club – help with job searches, CVs and interview preparation
🎄 Christmas Crafts – wreath making and festive decoration sessions coming in November/December

And the best bit? They’re FREE! 🙌

These sessions are relaxed, friendly and welcoming. You don’t need any previous experience, and you certainly don’t need to already know anyone. Come along, have a brew, learn something new and be part of your local community. ☕❤️
