📣 Glinton & Northborough FC Wildcats is Back! ⚽💙

We're delighted to be launching a new FA Wildcats Girls' Football programme starting on 7th October at Glinton & Northborough FC!

Designed specifically for girls aged 5-7, Wildcats provides a fun, safe and friendly introduction to football where girls can:

✅ Have fun
✅ Make new friends
✅ Learn new skills
✅ Build confidence

No previous football experience is needed. Whether your child has never kicked a ball before or already loves the game, everyone is welcome.

Thanks to funding support from The FA, the programme costs just £7.50 for 4 sessions, which works out at less than £2 per session!

👧 Ages: 5-7 years old
⚽ All abilities welcome
💷 Cost: £7.50 a month (just £1.88 per session)

💡 Floodlights upgrade! ⚽️

Big shout out to Mafinica Electrical Ltd and Fletch Harwood for helping us out and getting our floodlights upgraded. 👏

It was a bit of a windy one up there 🌬️😂 but the views weren’t too bad!

Another little job ticked off and another improvement for the club. 💙🤍

Young referees are learning too.

They will miss things.
They will make mistakes.
They won’t get every decision right.

Neither do players.
Neither do coaches.
Neither do parents.

What they shouldn’t have to deal with is abuse from adults on the touchline while they’re trying to do their best.

Without referees, there is no game.

So support them. Give them room to learn. And remember that the young person holding the whistle is someone’s child too.

🥊 Thinking Outside the Football Box! ⚽

Our U18s swapped the pitch for the boxing gym this week as part of their pre-season preparations, taking on a tough session designed to build fitness, resilience, discipline and teamwork.

A huge thank you to and Boxing Peterborough for welcoming the squad and putting the lads through their paces. The commitment, effort and willingness to step outside their comfort zone was there for all to see.

As Head of Football Development Al Stubbs said:

"Thinking outside the football box to give the team the best chance of success... brilliant!"

And U18 Manager Darren Bills summed up the group's potential perfectly:

"These lads are something special and we're ready to give it a really good go."

Pre-season is about more than football. It's about creating a team that works hard for each other, embraces new challenges and is ready for whatever the season throws at them.

It was a hard-fought afternoon against a very quick and youthful Parson Drove side.

We produced a solid first-half performance, defending well and keeping our shape against a team with plenty of pace. We stayed compact, communicated well and limited the opposition to very few clear chances. Jack McKenzie was excellent in goal, making some important saves when called upon.

The second half started much better from us. We moved the ball quicker, played with more confidence and began creating opportunities of our own. The players also responded really well to the tactical changes, showing good understanding and discipline.

However, two quick goals around the 60-minute mark left us with a mountain to climb. To the players' credit, there was no sign of giving up. We showed plenty of character, became more aggressive and started spending much more time in the opposition half.

That pressure finally paid off in the 75th minute when Corin Newman pulled one back with a well-taken goal to make it 1–2.

We continued to push and were rewarded again in the 83rd minute. Adrian Ciborowski produced a superb strike from around 18 yards, finding the top corner to level the game at 2–2 and earn us a valuable point.

Overall, a strong display of character from the team. To come back from 2–0 down against a very energetic Parson Drove side shows the fighting spirit within the squad.

⭐ Man of the Match – Jack McKenzie

A superb performance between the sticks. Jack was very assured in the box, had excellent hands and his distribution was a real positive throughout the game.
