ATTENTION COMPETITORS! No show, competition or training happens within the Riding Club movement unless people come forward as volunteers to help run them. We are fortunate at Fife to have some brilliant volunteers but sometimes organisers need to appeal for help from further afield. Volunteering is essential but it is also great fun and not such a bad way to spend a day. If you have never tried it, why not think about this? No experience necessary, just enthusiasm!😉

OPEN ARENA EVENT 2 July.

OPEN ARENA EVENT 2026. We’ll that’s another one ticked off the calendar. Hard to believe we are in the final month of our summer syllabus. The weather could not have been better with warm sunshine throughout. Entries for this two-part competition were down a bit but to be fair it was advertised late so under the circumstances we’re not complaining. Nice to see some “regulars” return including Lesley Gallagher and the peerless Stella May, as well as Mel Baker with her two, Bagel & Sam. Both have been great supporters of our events, even if they are not members. Great to see the likes of Laura Muir and Kerry Anne Strachan back at the field once more. Many, many thanks to our fantastic volunteers who once again ensured everything went smoothly with slick course changes, allowing us to finish pretty much on time. They were: On the judges table, Margaret Wyse, Jen Dixon and Liz Glasgow; our ring stewards, Susan Kerr & Kerry Hutchison; our Arena parties, on the showjumping, Linda Wood and Harris, and Toni Symon and on the Cross Country Joy Fulton assisted by Emily who had come along to do some volunteering as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. The course included a Joker fence which everyone attempted but only one paid the penalty. Getting close to the optimum time was therefore a big factor in determining the results. Only one -Lesley Gallagher & Stella May got it on the button. And in the final class, Lesley and Lara Hails finished on identical times just two seconds over, a great showdown to end our days jumping. Well done all our riders.👏👏👏
RESULTS: Class 1: 1st Libby Thorman & Mullaghmore Lakes Spirit; 2nd Kerry Anne Strachan & Kenzie; 3rd Sherrall Wilson & Mimi.
Class 2: 1st Fiona Soutar & Sylvia; 2nd Libby Thorman & Mullaghmore Lakes Spirit;
Class 3:1st Tracy Miller & Solve the Puzzle; 2nd Harlie Nicol & Dylan.
Class 4: 1st Lesley Gallagher & Stella May; 2nd Laura Muir & Ella; 3rd Lara Hails & Furzileas Hidden Gem; 4th Mel Baker & Bagel; 5th Mel Baker & Sam.
Class 6: 1st Lesley Gallagher & Stella May; 2nd Lara Hails & Furzileas Hidden Gem.

Thank you, riders, for your support. See you next time!😊
