Mikey was this weeks Parents Player of the week pipping his fellow full back in the poll. Mikey has settled into Rothes colours seamlessly, A proper defender, determined to turn every duel into a Rothes ball, covering his fellow defenders when needed then linking offensively with teammates today he really read the game superbly, Mikey’s reading of opposition play, positioning in and out of possession and composure on the ball when we looked to build attacks from the back were excellent, feeling confident on more then one occasion Mikey advanced with the ball from defensive positions playing through balls for our attackers creating a few chances during the game.

Well done Mikey keep up all the hard work 🔴🔵🔴⚽️🔥

Spencer was this weeks Coaches POTM for our latest game against East FIfe, a constant menace week in week out, throughout the game Spencer was a constant hassle to the opposition, another 4 goals in the bag to continue his scoring streak, with a delightful solo run from the halfway line as part of his goal count.

his all round performance was excellent. With an intense press leading from the front.

⚽ Match report Vs East Fife blacks

There's an early couple of corners for the Reds, as the lads make a bright and energetic start to the game. The Reds grab an early goal as Spencer scores from just inside the box. After a good bit of pressure from the Reds, and against the run of play, it's 1-1 as a free kick from East Fife goes over Connor into the net.

Some nice link up play from Arran, Campbell and Josh leads to a decent chance. With the lads looking strong, Spencer is clean through on the goalie from Mikey's looping ball over the top and it's 2-1.

East fife almost through but it's Harvey with some good classy defending as he cleans up at the back a couple of times. There's sustained Reds pressure, which occurred throughout the match. East Fife struggled to get out of their own half for big portions of the game. This leads to Spencer cutting in from the left and shooting into the corner for 3-1, from Mikey's nice pass.

Jayson made a good run, which almost led to another goal. Then a free kick from Spencer flashed across the goal. Spencer almost scores again as he hits one just wide.

Second half

A bit of a scrappy start to the second half, but after a corner Harvey shot from distance and it's just wide. East Fife then scored from a mix up in our defence, for 3-2. But then it's 4-2 as Campbell sends a good free kick in, which goes under the goalie's feet.

Jack then hits a nice shot from outside the box which hits the bar and goes over. There's more pressure from the Reds and Spencer sends one just wide.

From a corner Lewis puts it just over the bar from a volley. Then Spencer picks up the ball from Arran's throw in and goes on a superb mazey run through the defence and puts it around the goalie for 5-2.

There's a free kick on the edge of the box from Lewis but it's saved at the near post. The last goal of the game is for East Fife, and it finishes 5-3 to the Reds.

A strong performance from the lads, as they were the better team for most of the game and could easily have scored a few more!

Josh was this weeks Parents Player of the week racking up almost all the votes. Josh settled into the game superbly, often a dangerous outlet on the right hand side. Carrying the ball from defensive to dangerous offensive positions on multiple occasions, including one solo run from just outside our box deep into the oppositions half, Josh’s composure on the ball was a real benefit to the team in times when we were pressed by the opposition. Unlucky not to score today. But the goals will come of that were sure.

Spencer was this weeks Coaches POTM for our latest game against Cupar, throughout the game Spencer was a constant menace to the opposition, to the point there only tactic to stop him was to kick him from pillar to post, a brilliant hatrick scored to continue his scoring streak. With a delightful free kick as part of his trio of goals.

Unlucky to add further to his tally with two chances cleared off the line and somehow denied at least one penalty, his all round performance was excellent. Keep up all the hard work Spencer 🔴🔵🔴⚽️⚽️⚽️🔥🫡

⚽ Match report Vs Cupar Colts ⚽️

A frantic start to the match saw an opening goal for Cupar as some hesitance in our defence let Cupar in. Almost immediately the Reds hit back as Spencer slotted it in the corner of the net.

A free kick for the Reds then saw Spencer send it over the goalie's head, with a great strike. Then another free kick saw Jayden hit an absolute screamer in off the bar for 3-1. However, Cupar didn't lie down as they made it 3-2, then 3-3.

The Reds had a good few chances to take the lead again and were unlucky. Spencer with a great run, but it went across the goal. Spencer almost scored again, but the keeper was there. Jack and Campbell almost combined but it was cleared, then Spencer was through on goal from Jack's superb pass and made it 4-3 for his hatrick.

Miko then almost scored from distance but it's went just wide. It was then cleared off the line again after a looper from Jack, Spencer then played a ball inside but it went wide from Miko.

Half time

Our boys were caught out from the start and it was 4-4, as Cupar scored right after the kick off. Then almost again as the ball flashed across the goal. A great turn and pass from Campbell led to Josh having a strike but it was blocked.

A good ball in from Josh and Jack's shot was then blocked. Josh was through, but the keeper was there to block the shot. Cupar threatend again but Harvey with some good defending and cleaning up at the back.Then a great save from Connor as the ball came in from the side.

A good corner from Josh into the box, but Campbell unfortunately put it over the bar. Cupar then capitalised however towards the end of the game and made it 5-4 and then 6-4.

Final score 6-4 to Cupar.

A physical game from Cupar who had some big physical boys in their team and made it a rough night. However, our boys showed more skillful play than their opponents and scored some cracking goals, and also had a good few chances. They were really unlucky not to get something out of the match!
