At Crewe United Academy, we’re always looking at ways to give our boys and girls additional opportunities to learn, develop and grow.

One of those opportunities is our dedicated goalkeeper training, giving our young keepers focused coaching alongside their normal team sessions.

The 2019 Juniors lined up against Oxford Sunnyside for three games today.

It was a tough test against a very well-organised Oxford Sunnyside side, but the Crewe boys all put in a great shift from start to finish. 👏💪

Tommy worked his socks off throughout, pressing up front, tracking back, putting in some crucial strong challenges and bagging a few goals along the way. 👊💪⚽️

Zack tortured the opposition with some great dribbling, constantly hustling and pressing to get Crewe on the attack. He took a bit of a knock to the knee but battled on, then went in goals for the final game and made some great stops. 👊💪⚽️

Jacob showed some great passing today, always looking to get Crewe on the attack. He also hustled the opposition when they were in possession and defended really well. He went in goals for the second game and, let’s just say, he couldn’t wait for that game to be over! 🤣👊💪⚽️

Finley was superb today — great tackling, dribbling and a few goals to his name. I know he won’t like me saying this, but for me, the third game was his best. He held the back line fantastically, stayed calm on the ball, picked out some great passes, made strong challenges and pressed forward whenever the opportunity came. He read the game really well. 👊💪⚽️

Harrison A was our Player of the Match today with a fantastic all-round performance. He was goalkeeper for the first game and made some great saves, before creating absolute havoc for the opposition in the final two games! Dribbling, passing, tackling, covering huge amounts of ground and scoring some great goals. A brilliant performance. 👊💪⚽️⚽️⚽️

Great effort today, boys! Plenty of positives to take and lots more to come 👌
