Members - Get your electrical equipment PAT tested for free 🔌⚡

Friday 17 July, join us for our PAT Testing , with coffee, and co-working in the resource room while you wait. Members can have 5 items tested free of charge.

Members can drop off items in advance of the 17th, as long as they are left in a bag, and clearly labelled. If you are dropping off items, we ask that you collect them within 1 week, for fair use of space.

PAT Testing, is a process of inspecting and testing electrical appliances to ensure they are safe for use. Most venues and organisations, including The Work Room, require any electrical items brought into their venues to have been recently PAT Tested, as part of Health and Safety. We recognise this can be expensive to do on a single item basis.

This is part of our bookable STUDIO CAFE offerings, addressing the wider needs of being an independent dance artist. STUDIO CAFE is part of our Summer pilot programme , offering bookable slots of studio time, alongside a regular programme of curated offerings on Fridays.

You can arrive and leave at any point across the 2 hours, to fit your practice around your day.

This week we welcome Jonah Russell to The Work Room for his first studio residency, working in collaboration with H Barton.

Jonah Russell and H Barton are a hand-to-hand duo who will be spending their week in residence, exploring how their acrobatic bodies fit inside a single # # hoodie.

The development time will focus on discovering the theatrical possibilities of working with the jumper, choreographic moments that sit between dance and more acrobatic techniques, and blurring the distinction between the two.

Jonah & H will be opening up their process with a work-in-progress sharing on Wednesday 1 July at 4:30 pm.
