Pollok United 50+

Today it was the turn of our 65’s to play league games in the West Premiership.
We started the day 4 points off the top with work to be done!
3 games later with 9 points in the bag we have closed the gap to one point at the top after a good win against top of the league Drumchapel.
All to play for in the final set of games in October.
As usual thanks to Walking Football Scotland and the referees 👏⚽️

Well done to Pollok United today. 12 points from 4 games gets us back into the champions league spots. Still some work to be done ⚽️

Today was the 60's Glasgow Cup walking football event at Toryglen, Glasgow.
24 teams from all over Scotland.
How did it go?
Let's just say we need to order a bigger trophy cabinet!

It was the turn for Supervets 60's today and both Pollok Thistle and Pollok United had a good day. United had 3 wins and Thistle went one better with 4 wins out of 4 and sit proudly at the top of the league 👏

It was back to league business today for United and Thistle 60’s and both teams put up fine performances.
United now sit at the top of the league after 4 wins out of 4 today. Thistle sit poised in 3rd place.

Our boys have just won the 50's Eurocopa Trophy in Albufeira, Portugal. In a fitting tribute our boys wore the strips of our friends from Oriam Walking Football Club who for personal reasons could not compete today.
Well done boys, another fantastic achievement 👏🏆⚽️

UEFA Grassroots Awards 2025/26: Best Grassroots Club Scotland's Pollok United have won the 2025/26 UEFA Grassroots Award for Best Grassroots Club for their work providing local communities with opportunities in football and well-being.

Today we had the first set of fixtures of 2026 for Supervets 60's. We had teams from both Thistle and United entered managing to put two eight a side teams together, all over 60 years of age, a remarkable achievement.
In the big head to head it was Thistle who came out on top with a fine one nil win.
Early days but Thistle sit joint top after the first set of fixtures alongside St. Anthony's.

Today was the first set of fixtures in the West of Scotland 60's league today. A solid start for both Thistle and United. After 4 games Thistle have 10 points whilst United sit on 9.
In the big game between the two it was Thistle who managed to come out on top, winning 2-1 in a close fought match.
