Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has been given permission to try and seal a loan move to Middlesbrough.

However, it remains to be seen if the English Championship club can complete the transfer ahead of the 11pm deadline.

Barron has featured in just two European games this season and is among those the club are willing to let depart in search for more minutes.

Rangers manager Derek McInnes has told Sky Sports News he only expects ONE more signing before the transfer deadline.

Striker Kevin Kelsy underwent his medical yesterday after a deal worth around £9m ($12.5m) was agreed with Portland Timbers last week.

McInnes said: "We're still working hard to get one in at the minute. We're getting closer on that one, but we believe it's only going to be the one in.

"On players out, there's been a few conversations had.

"There may well be things develop over the next 24-48 hours on that front. But again, these things are natural.

"I think most clubs will be seeing and trying to do the last couple of days' business, trying to get a couple of things in that they need. So we're no different to that.

"The club's done a lot of business early on. Every manager doesn't always get exactly what they want.

"But you've got to be grateful at times for what you do get.

Dundee United are in talks with Rangers over a deal for Lyall Cameron.

It is understood the 23-year-old would be allowed to depart Ibrox but there is competition to sign him.

He played for the Tannadice club’s youth sides before being released and joining city rivals Dundee.

The midfielder then joined Rangers last summer but spent the second-half of last season on loan at Aberdeen.

The likes of Nicolas Raskin, Connor Barron, Ross McCausland, Bojan Miovski, John Souttar and Clinton Nsiala could also depart Ibrox if deals can be agreed but if they can't be agreed some of these players will be staying put... 🫡🫡❤️🤍💙
