In one of the most astonishing batting displays ever witnessed in local league cricket, Abid Fareed produced a record‑shattering double hundred to propel ERCC Eagles to a colossal victory over the Langside Evening League side.

His innings, a breathtaking blend of power and precision, rewrote expectations of what is possible in a T20 match.

Fareed’s knock, 200 runs from just 66 balls, including 22 towering sixes, left everyone witnessing in disbelief as he single‑handedly dismantled the Langside attack.

His dominance was so complete that he eventually left the field retired hurt, having already inflicted irreparable damage on the opposition’s hopes.

Abid was supported briefly but valuably by Adnan Nadeem, who contributed 25, and youngster Ibrahim Awan 21.

ERCC Eagles surged to a monumental 328/7 in their 20 overs, a total rarely seen even in professional franchise cricket.

Langside, faced with an impossible chase, showed resilience but were ultimately outgunned.

Game kicked off in perfect weather and on good ground conditions.

Ibrahim smashed a brilliant 73, and Idhant stepped up to open the innings, playing a smart, sensible knock and building a solid 32‑run partnership with him. Safwan kept the pressure on with a classy 44, while Nisar (16) and Aquib (14) added important runs.

Fielding was on another level. Nisar’s 3 wickets were massive, and Idhant’s 3 sharp catches lifted the whole team. Everyone was switched on, everyone contributed.

And a special shoutout to Sree, who picked up an injury but still got back out there for the team.

ERCC produced a remarkable defensive performance to secure a thrilling victory over Motherwell, successfully defending a low total in a match that went right down to the wire.

After being put under pressure with the bat, Ibrahim Awan played the defining innings of the match with a patient 39 off 87 balls, holding the innings together when wickets were tumbling. Captain Aqeel Mahmood also made a valuable contribution with the bat, adding crucial runs to help ERCC post a competitive total.

Defending the target, ERCC’s bowlers rose to the occasion with a sensational display. Captain Aqeel Mahmood starred with the ball, claiming 4 wickets, while Adnan Sarwat produced a match-winning spell of 3 wickets, as the pair ripped through the Motherwell middle order and swung the momentum firmly in ERCC’s favour. They were well supported by the rest of the bowling attack, who kept the pressure on throughout with disciplined lines and excellent fielding.

Motherwell fought hard and kept the contest alive until the closing stages, but ERCC held their nerve under pressure to seal a memorable victory.
