Can’t believe MyFitnessPal was down over the weekend again 🤫
4 days on 3 days off.
1 step forward 2 steps back.
The cycle of thinking you’re doing well because of the days through the week
To feeling annoyed and frustrated with yourself for letting it go over the weekend.

Could I pull you for a chat about how many calories you burned during that workout?
Yeah it doesn’t really matter.
What you should be logging is the weights you lifted, how it felt, the reps you achieved and how many sets.
Not that you’ve burned a couple hundred calories or more if it’s a Hyrox class.
Train to get fitter and stronger not burn calories.
Fully commit to training, getting yer steps in and now willing to do cardio.
But track and full week of calories. F**k that!
The longer you avoid taking control of your diet the longer you’ll be feeling frustrated.
You know you’re capable of more.
Capable of doing better.
But you lack direction and clarity with your diet 💪🏻👊🏻

The boys powered up Conic hill today.
Second Wednesday of the summer holidays and we’ve had another action packed day.
Unfortunately, Max has blisters from the hill, feel off his bike into stingy nettles and to top off his day tripped on a curb with his scooter.
Other than that it’s been a class day.
Couple of goals before the end of the year.
Triceps looking class.
And
Over 200 follower on insta.
Really I want to get better at content. Better on camera and stop being a big sh*te bag.
So, if you want to encourage me, see my progress drop me a follow and any posts you come across drop them a like to give me that dopamine boost 🤣🤣
Sorry to break it to you.
But weighing yourself is quite literally one of the best ways to tell if you’re moving in the right direction with your fat loss goals.
I get it though it can be frustrating.
It doesn’t drop everyday like you’d like.
It jumps up when you expected it to drop.
It drops a random day when you FEEL rubbish.
But when you understand what’s happening it can be great.
But progress takes time.
Fat loss takes time.
And if you use the scale properly you will see that number dropping over time.
I’ve got a video going over how to use the scale properly to track your progress.
If you’d like me to send it over fire me a message saying SCALE I’ll get it over to you.

Thats 182 days.
6 months.
Or 26 weeks left of the year.
I’ve already got a rough plan.
The next couple of weeks?
Continue with mini cut before we head away on holiday.
Can’t wait to get some sunshine for more than one afternoon.
Then it’s August?
That’s when things get serious.
I’ll be starting my photoshoot prep. I don’t have it booked yet, but it is the plan.
Around 14 weeks of training, dieting and sticking to the plan. This time aff the wine at the weekends, though.
It’ll take me right through to my birthday in November.
And if all goes to plan...
It’ll probably be the last time I ever do the fake tan thing.
Then, with just over 7 weeks left of the year.
Calories come back up.
Training stays the same.
The goal becomes maintaining, recovering and building feeling good heading into the New Year.
I’m also feeling pretty positive about getting a place in the London Marathon next year
So January will be back into marathon training.
Hopefully, around 10kg lighter than I was when I stood on the start line in Edinburgh nearly 6 weeks ago.
It’s funny how quickly half a year goes by.
And when you break it down into phases, 26 weeks suddenly feels like even less time
So what about you?
We’ve got 26 weeks left this year.
Have you thought about how you want to finish it?

Sipping away on my flat white.
All I can hear is kids screaming.
Parents running around in their socks trying to catch wee bolts of lightning before they disappear into the rainbow coloured scaffolding.
I think I can hear music
but it’s one of those big echoey tin buildings where everything just blends together.
The only way I can describe it is...
Noisy.
It’s the first Dad’s Day of the summer holidays.
That’s what we’re calling Wednesdays.
It’s summer, and it looked pretty minging outside.
Cinema or soft play?
You already know the answer.
As I sat there watching the boys disappear into the maze.
I couldn’t help having a nosey around.
Grandparents helping out through the holidays.
Mum pals grabbing a coffee and a catch up while the kids burn off enough energy in the hope they’ll sleep tonight.
Couples are trying to have a conversation, only to be interrupted every 30 seconds by a tiny human shouting.
If you’ve ever been to softplay, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
But watching my two running about has always been my favourite part.
It honestly feels like yesterday I was in about it with them, climbing up, helping them over every obstacle, trying to keep an eye on them.
Now they don’t need me to climb around after them.
They disappear, come back every now and then to tell me about something, grab a drink, then they’re away again.
It’s brilliant. It’s the stage I couldn’t wait for.
People tell you when your kids are young that time flies.
You smile, nod, and think you get it.
You don’t.
Not until one day you’re sitting with a flat white in your hand, waiting for an invite to get back in about it.
I’m going to make the most of these Wednesdays over summer.
Next week we’ll swap the soft play for Conic Hill.
Let’s see how that goes.
Anyway...
Coffee’s finished.
Apparently we’re going swimming now...
