Morning from another beautiful day in Bishopbriggs. Classes much quieter this week and of course the Glasgow Fair means a few more of you away now. A few of us had a 4 day break in Jersey and made the most of the good weather there too. Padel introduced to us by Lippy which we loved and then swimming in the lovely clear waters round St Aubin's Bay. Such a short flight and feels like you're somewhere further afield. Mary Doc now safely in Canada and hopefully coming back in a couple of weeks to her totally refurbished new house. Good that many of you are enjoying shorter breaks in Scotland as the weather will show our scenery off perfectly. A few of you still under par so hoping you feel better soon. I am struggling with caffeine withdrawal as decided to clean my diet up a bit. Never realised that you get thumping headaches along the way! Enjoy the weekend and see you all soon. Keep that focus!

Morning all, running late so a quick post today. No formal classes Friday or Monday as a few of us are off to Jersey. Great weekend of televised sport, so I know what the chat will be this morning. Welcoming Sally who joined us on Friday for the first time. Looking forward to seeing more of you soon. George aiming for decorator of the year after a mammoth task of decorating an old property in Stornoway. Despite being tired, he is in awe of the beauty of our islands. Shout out to Adele who fooled many of us with a brilliant AI ruse about being whisked away for the weekend with the most handsome of men - hilarious! If only! This week we are on weights throughout the set and feet against the mirror for the core set. See you all soon - keep that focus! Remember to come in before class or stay after to do more intense weight sets.

Morning all, that's the first week of the long school holidays under our belt and we're into July already! Traffic so much lighter and I think the road work men are off on holiday too for a bit - hope I haven't spoken too soon! Many of you are away enjoying sunshine in Europe, but I believe the temperatures are sky high, so hope you're all coping. Good to see so many of you here in class this week, although the 5.15 class both evenings was very quiet. Looks like mornings suit most of you best. Some of you got the all clear from your consultants, so well done and great news. Cause for celebration ladies. Can I remind you that 4 of us are heading to Jersey next Thursday 9th; so studio closed for formal classes on both Friday 10th and Monday 13th. Key holders are free to use the studio as they wish - even for a coffee and catch up with each other. Always good to share your thoughts with others over a cuppa. Hope you all have a good weekend - keep that focus!

Morning all, how was your weekend? Very strange weather. The last two weekends had torrential rain on the Friday evening and I was driving in both of them. I could barely see anything such was the force of it! Probably some showers tomorrow too. George safely in Stornoway and extolling the virtues and the scenery of the isles - we've all been telling him for years that we'd rather be here than abroad if only the weather was guaranteed! Anne K up in her island home, so hope you bump into each other. Heldo still in Malaga, but hopefully the rest of you here for classes? Some health issues appearing with some of you or with some close family members. We can only hope for a positive outcome for you all. Stay strong. We are all hopeful that Mary Doc is nearing completion of this new house project of hers. It has gone on for a good bit longer than anyone anticipated, but we're on the home run now! I'm looking forward to the housewarming - I hope she doesn't ask us to bring a paintbrush! Look forward to seeing you all soon - kee that focus!

Morning all from a very humid Bishopbriggs studio. Great that so many of you managed to come to class despite the heat. Can't remember when I last had to water the garden at night! No idea how the World Cup fans and players are coping with it. Lots of you or sons/daughters away this week enjoying even warmer weather abroad. Some of the temperatures recorded are very high with some heat related deaths in France. Earthquakes in Venezuela with a high casualty rate too. How very sad. Still, we managed all our morning walks here, albeit a good bit slower and a few of us puffing and panting. Good to see both Jenny and Fiona R back from their respective jaunts - hope you get those shoes organised for your wedding Jenny. Alison. a reminder that you have a music festival tomorrow - your memory is as bad as mine! Enjoy your weekend wedding Anne McP too! Hoping Fiona T improves after her recent hospital stay and that all of you under par are back with us soon. Schools are out and all of you in Education will be breathing a big sigh of relief - hope the weather holds for you. Enjoy the weekend everyone, but keep that focus!

Morning all, hope you all celebrated Father's Day with either parents, partners or extended family. Belated birthday wishes to Heldo - apologies I knew I'd forget someone one day! Loved the look of that birthday cake and as you say, never too old for one. I had a busy weekend so I'm back at the studio for a rest. Good to see some of us back on the weights again. We usually focus more on them in the winter day and more cardio in the summer, but consistency is the answer. Light weights with higher reps, then increase the weight and reduce the volume. Sending get well wishes to Flexible Fiona who has ended up in hospital with her asthma. Hoping they resolve your issues Fiona and you're back with us in the studio very soon. Weather great and I don't need to ask because I know every one of you will have had full washing lines over the weekend! Me too. Looking forward to catching up on gardening this week as forecast good. Studio set is pretty much side on to the bar for both waves and hip and thigh. Scoops and rotations increased this week and adding in some hanging open and close for those whose shoulders can accommodate it. Look forward to seeing you at the barre.

Morning all and a quick week. Great to see both Alison and Suzanne back from their breaks. June and Heldo away this week for another break - a lot of you enjoying a better quality of life and seeing more of the world in your retirement than you ever did in your working years. Poor George has had 2 tumbles this week, so looking a bit battered and bruised. Hope you feel better soon George. Some health issues in the studio this week so always hoping for a positive outcome. I had a car repair for sensors not working properly and I am now relieved of £550! Honestly, if I didn't have grandchildren to ferry about there would be no car - I'd be a lot fitter and healthier too. Football weekend looming again so fingers crossed. Enjoy your weekend everyone and keep that focus- look how far you've all come and thanks for creating such a supportive community.

Phew, a sigh of relief at the start of the world cup - so far, so good! Not sure if any of you stayed up for it, but lots of media coverage yesterday. A lot of schools and work premises have a world cup day off today, so some of you may have grandparent duties. Feel free to bring the wee folk to the morning classes. Weather took a turn for the better yesterday too, so looks like a few dry days ahead. Almost at the longest day and then the end of the school year. No birthdays that I'm aware of this week. Studio set this week with no toys, just increased numbers. A few more of you back from holiday this week; look forward to seeing you. See you all soon. Keep that focus!

Morning all, world cup fever here now. Lots of folk have the Monday off but we'll be here either celebrating or commiserating on Monday morning. Wishing Monica a very happy birthday and hope that back of yours gives you some respite on your birthday!
Great so many of you are getting holidays this weather as we seem to have forgotten what sunshine is like here. Lippy had another successful West Highland Way walk with friends last week, this time doing it in reverse. However, she did encounter more than a few midgies and rain showers! Well done Lippy. Toni et al off to her annual Dornoch break again, so hope you get some sun to enjoy the beautiful walks there. Safe travels to Elaine who is off to Madrid to see family - hope you have a lovely break. Well done to all the morning walkers and those on a healthy eating regime. Normally it's easier in summer to get both fitter and drop some pounds, but it's tricky trying to overcome the dreich weather. Remember fitness and health are your own personal journey, so don't be distracted by others leading you astray! Get well to all of you under par this week and hoping things resolve themselves sooner. Have a good weekend and keep that focus!

Morning all, a bit of a damp weekend there. Getting near the end of the school year although I believe we have an additional Monday off to celebrate the world cup on 15th? Looking forward to seeing our holiday makers return today and catch up on the chat. Happy holidays to Catherine and Suzanne and hoping you both get a good rest and enjoy some good wine. I met with Janice last week who feels unable to drive over to class for the immediate future, but sends her best to all of you. She misses your company. Thanks to Anne Gin for her amazing deserts she made for us all - the Friday class thanks you Anne! A few of you having child care commitments for your grandchildren recently, so hoping you're back with us on a more regular basis soon. See you all at the barre - weights this week and reps of 100 for your basic set.
