What a difference a day makes. Weather looking much more compliant this morning with a F3 forecast, with occasional stronger gusts. Current expectation is to get on the water as per the Sailing Instructions.

Good morning. The weather overnight at the club hit wind speeds of over 50kts, but as per the forecast it has dropped now away to 16kts currently. It is due to build again this afternoon but not as strong as last night. Routes to the club are accessbile with care as there is debris on the road and some fallen branches do narrow it to one lane in places. Please follow local advice for your route if travelling.

If you still plan to come, the fire is on, the bacon is cooking and registration will stay open later than planned to allow people arriving later to still register. If the weather prevents sailing today, the cafe will be open all day, and the bar will open later in the afternoon. The weather remains much more moderate tomorrow, so we still intend to do everything we can to get you on the water at some point over the weekend.

Many of you will have been monitoring the weather for the weekend and see that there are strong winds forecast, particularly on Saturday, with Sunday looking better. The Keelboat Open Event is still be going ahead and we‘ll make a decision on each day as normal based on the real time weather. We really hope that as many people as possible come and enjoy the club, the bar and the dinner, and we will do our very best to get you on the water when we are able. However, I would urge individuals to make their own decisions about travel and the local weather on their specific route, following any local or government advice relevant to their journeys. Looking forward to seeing you at the weekend.
