It's one of the questions we hear most often in class - and it's a great question.
Everyone learns movement differently. Some of us respond best to verbal cues, others to demonstrations, imagery, or hands-on guidance.
That's why our teachers use a variety of teaching techniques to help each person connect with the movement in a way that works for them.
Understanding which muscles are working can help you move with greater precision, reduce unnecessary compensation, and build a stronger connection with your body.

Choosing a yoga teacher training is a big decision.
It's not just about the qualification. It's about finding the right teachers, style of yoga, course structure, values, support and learning environment for you.
And you don't necessarily need to know that you want to teach. You might just feel ready to take a deeper dive into yoga and discover where that leads.
We've put together a guide to help you think through the questions worth asking before choosing a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Glasgow.
Read the full blog here: Read the full blog via the website, or comment BLOG and we'll send you the link.
And if you're considering our Embodied Teaching 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, our free information session is coming up on Sunday 13 September, 1–3pm.
Come along, ask questions and get a feel for whether it's the right training for you
Your first Yin Yoga class? Here’s exactly what to expect. 🧘♀️✨
If you’re used to faster-paced yoga or traditional workouts, Yin can feel a little different - and that’s the point.
Expect:
🌙 Longer-held, mostly floor-based poses
🌙 Plenty of stillness and deep breathing
🌙 Props to help you feel supported
🌙 Time to soften, release and simply be
🌙 A slower pace that gives your body (and mind) space to exhale
You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need to know the poses. And you definitely don’t need to “be good at yoga.”
Just come as you are. 🤍
Send it to a friend who’s been curious, and let this be your sign to slow down.
Herbal Burning Bundle Workshop 🌿
20th September, 1:30-3pm
Join Gillian for a calming, hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own herbal bundle to take home and enjoy.
You’ll be guided through a selection of beautiful dried herbs—each chosen for their unique qualities and aromas. You’ll learn how to intuitively combine them and craft your own bundle, setting a personal intention as you go.
This workshop is designed as a gentle, creative ritual—an opportunity to slow down, connect, and make something meaningful with your hands. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity and an open mind.
All herbs and materials will be provided.
You’ll leave with your own handmade herbal bundle, along with guidance on how to dry and use it safely at home.

Sometimes we don't need to do more. We just need to pause. 🤍
Reiki has been part of my own wellbeing journey for over 12 years, and it's something I continue to return to because of how deeply soothing I find it.
I first became interested in Reiki through my fascination with the chakras and my own experience of receiving Reiki. I went on to train through Levels 1, 2 and 3 with Lee-Anne Erskine Seery at ,eventually becoming a Reiki Master.
For me, Reiki creates a beautiful opportunity to slow down, settle and reconnect. Not just with my body, but with something that feels a wider
I love the sense of peace and presence that can stay with me after a treatment. It reminds me to breathe, to move more mindfully through my day and to be a more present with whatever I'm doing.
And that's often why people seek out Reiki.
Maybe you're feeling stressed, overwhelmed or depleted.
Maybe you need some time for yourself.
Maybe you're curious about energy healing and want to experience it for yourself.
Or it might be that you feel called to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
There doesn't always have to be a reason. Sometimes, we just need somewhere quiet to land.
I offer Reiki treatments at my studio, in the East End of Glasgow, with 30-minute and 60-minute sessions, as well as blocks of 3 and 6.
If you'd like to know more about Reiki, comment “REIKI” below and I'll send you some more information.
