Width 3 seater installed in this customers Lwb T6.1, wi th the addition of extra long rails and isofix. The extra long rails allow the seat to be fixed fully forward almost touching front seats.
2 x privacy tint opening windows also fitted.

Electrical faults seem to be the most common complaint these days from customers who have had vans converted by incompetent individuals.
A couple in this week.
First one with a suspected broken fridge. After checking out the power supply to the fridge, it was apparent that low voltage supply could be the problem. Supplied fridge with correct voltage and was working as should be. New supply wiring of suitable gauge, direct from leisure battery sorted the problem. 4mm instead of 1mm…!
Good example of voltage drop consequence if too small cable used.

Second problem was a badly wired 240v hook up and consumer unit, which only became apparent when customer requested it was relocated.
Supply cable routed through a roughly cut hole through van body without protective grommet and also earth bond to chassis from consumer unit cable was rigid rather than flex cable.
Cable rerouted and earth bond cable replaced.
Take care when either purchasing a campervan or getting work carried out on your pride and joy.
Either find out who converted the van and try and check out their work or use a reputable company.

Customer popped in yesterday with his motorhome complaining about his DC2DC victron unit not working.
Was installed without ignition live trigger and not set up correctly.
Fitted a fused ignition live and set up to enable proper function. Unit still didn’t run consistently, with a measured low voltage input from van battery. Voltage was fine at van battery so checked the cabling and fuse. Inline switchable fuses from Amazon had been fitted by someone and were causing the issue.
Fitted new midi fuse holders and fuses and all good, with consistent charging when engine running.
Never buy cheap unbranded components for your electrical system.

Split charging not working. Found the fault to be a bad earth connection to Leisure batteries. This is why you don’t screw through van floor to connect to chassis earth. It eventually corrodes.
Due to run of earth cable I ran a new one from internal bodywork after cleaning paint to ensure a good connection.
